What I mean by this is....do you care more about the lives of Americans then you do about...say....Iraqis?
What is your religious justification for this opinion?
I do care more about American lives then other lives. Call it evil, but as an American that is my loyalty. I am not religious, and need no justification for feeling this way...but I am curious as to how the religious will respond.
I also care more about Jewish life then I do about Christian life. Call it horrible...but my first loyalty is to my own.

Anybody who says otherwise is lying ... and trying to sound superior. If this isn't the case, when the casualties of the war are being discussed, no one really pays attention to the number of Iraqis who have died ... but everyone gasps in horror at the number of Americans who have been killed. Most people who would be heartbroken if a tornado ripped through a mostly Christian community wouldn't care as much if the same storm took out a Wiccan coven. People hold candlelight vigils for the white, rich girl who wasn't a family member, a friend, or even an acquaintance dies in a car accident, but rarely says a word when a girl of the same age who happens to be a minority is hit by a stray bullet in the bad part of town.
Spiritually, I'm told to love my neighbor as myself ... and I really try to do that. But common sense of human nature will tell you that the deaths of others like you will have more of an impact then of those who are different.

I'm American living in a large European city with a very large Muslim community. If a child was about to be hit by a car or bus, and I could save them, but would surely lose my own life, I wouldn't hesitate--regardless of religion, skin tone, hairstyle, or whatever other prejudices that certain people-groups are stereotyped as having (talking about me as an American--stereotyped as self-centered, not thinking of the rest of the world). If it was an adult in the street, I might hesitate, because with an adult I don't know if stepping in front of a car, bus, or train is a choice. So... I value childrens' lives more; adult lives equally. Just being total honest.

As a Christian, we're not supposed to. However, I'm not sure it would be completely truthful for me to say that if I had a choice between saving my sister and saving some random little Russian girl, that I'd have to think twice. I wouldn't. I'd save my sister. I don't know if that's wrong, or if it's just who I was created to be.
Let's just hope it doesn't come down to that.

Christianity is an offshoot of the Jews. A lot of Christians don't even realize Jesus was Jewish.
Personally I don't discriminate against any particular religion or nationality - I just don't like NASTY people - we could all do without them!

What can I say?? You've spouted something that most of us think, but never admit or say . . .
You're normal.
I'm Christian, and all life is equally valuable in my humble opinion.
