The idea of harm coming from witches and wizards originates from the early mother goddess cults. With the women of these religions holding the power, early Jewish cults felt they were a threat and began the beginning of the dehumanization of "witches". Later the Catholic Church accused the pagans of Europe of being witches (The Witch Trials Etc...) and thus you have the dehumanization/idea that a witch would want to hurt you in the modern christian mindset.
When in reality the "witches" were just priestess who believed in a connection with the mother, earth. Nothing at all to do with harm.
Misconceptions like this happen a lot throughout history and this would be one of those unfortunate misconceptions.

There are witches and wizards. There IS such a thing as demonic power.
Just read the story of Moses convincing pharoh to let his people go free from slavery, so they could get away. Almost every miracle God gave Moses and Araan to perform, the demonic sorcerers ALSO perfomed. Moses turned his staff into a serpent, so did the sorcerer. God sent a plague of frogs, so did the sorcerer, and so forth.
Demonic powers. Yes, it's real. And I am so glad that my God has thrown out a safely net to protect Christians from it!

I have had a wiccan place a curse upon me...I know this for a fact... The deception that is wicca and all of the other" witchcraft" stuff dose have a connection with the forces of evil. The so-called "good" witchcraft that wiccans are involved with is, infact, capable of summoning the forces of evil... even though the majority of wiccans seem to be well decieved by the entry level touchy feely stuff and never get beyond that level... and all f the the so-called "pagan" "beliefes are also just deceptions of the forces of evil...untill some get further into it and come to know the true source and uses for the powers that can be summoned by their practices.... It is true that no curse of evil can directly controle one of The True Christian Faith... but the curse can have negative affects on those around the Christian... that is the way the forces of evil can bring hurt to Those of The Faith.... none of the wicca/pagan/occult stuff is to be taken lightly... it can, and dose, cause great harm.

Darling, don't lie to yourself, there are bad witches out there. Just because most of us follow the rede doesn't mean every witch is wiccan or that there aren't magick users out there who throw around curses like used tissues

What happens witches when they die?
Ye cannot be serious and say you do not want a christian burial.
Cute ideas are one thing and everlasting life is another.

I don't see anything wrong with that. If there are people practicing witch craft or voodoo that want to hurt someone else, they won't have power to hurt someone who is following Jesus because His Holy Spirit is in them. And there certainly are witches who want to hurt others.

Whom do witches and wizards serve? It's not people and it isn't God. It's the 'father of lies' who comes to 'steal, kill and destroy'. He can't get at God so he goes after God's people. He seeks to stop the Kingdom of Heaven from coming to earth and to do that he must stop Christians because they are the only avenue through which God's kingdom will come. Witches are just one avenue of his plan of attack.

Hopefully they meant by that that no one can actually do magic so NO ONE has anything to worry about. But they probably had something more supernatural in mind.

Well, I was told by a wiccan on this forum, whom I won't name, that I better be careful because she could summon demons to me. I realize she couldn't be a true wiccan, but I didn't like it much.

Hehe, yes it is silly. If I were to reply to that comment, I'd tell the Christian, that they have no power over me either. They can pray all they want until their face turns blue, I won't convert.
