Could your question be construed as hate-mongering towards atheists? Do I have any reason for caring who they are?

could calling atheist "hate-mongering" be construed as hate-mongering itself?

I think so.

Ken Miller is a Christian, who is also a scientist and supports evolution. Francis Collins is a famous geneticist who is also a Christian, and was recently featured in a debate in Time magazine with Richard Dawkins.

What is your point? That there are a variety of opinions out there? I knew that already.

I don't know about hate mongering atheists, but I (a plain ole' atheist) know that Ken Miller is one of the people actively engaged in debunking idiots who try to give validity to intelligent design. Remember--you can't spell idiot without "id."

And I believe that Francis Collins was one of the heads of the human genome project.

I've never heard myself referred to as 'hate mongering' before, but yes. I'm actually going to see Ken speak next week. They are good scientists who have some wacky beliefs they can't quite justify and are willing to admit it.

Hate-mongering atheists or not, many people do not know them. Many people also do not set a high priority to read about thing unless it interests them.

Yep-both are proof that even intelligent people can be fooled by attractive nonsense. I DO believe that there is more than evolution, it's just that the Abrahamic religions have it all wrong. And yes Christianity is VERY CLOSELY RELATED to Islam and Judaism. Even if you don't like it it's still true!!
