My favorite place on earth. Road to Hana is an all day trip, so start early and take your time. Just past the Oheo Gulch is Hamoa beach - uncrowded and lots of waves. Go all the way around and stop for wine at Tedeshi winery. Another favorite drive is the one north of Kapalua which will take you all the way around to Wailuku near the airport. Gorgeous scenery, but be careful of speeding locals and a narrow road with severe drop-offs.
Snorkel Black Rock in Kaanapali. Old Lahaina Luau. Breakfast at the Gazebo near Napili Bay. Downtown Lahaina and the banyan tree. Makawao and Paia. Beaches in Kehei - Kamaole Beack Park I, II & III. Lots of uncrowded beaches south of Wailea. Buy yourself this book. "Maui Revealed" by Wizard Publications. It is the best travel book about Maui that I have found. Enjoy, I am somewhat envious.

I agree with the previous people - Hana and Haleakala are the 2 best places to see. Just past Oheo Gulch outside of Hana is a small church where Charles Lindbergh is buried. I'd add to the previous postings taking the time to go to Iao Valley just outside of Kahului. There is a beautiful Japanese garden there and fabulous view of the valley, along with some easy hiking. Maui Ocean Center is also nice if you like aquariums.

I used to live on Maui....Hana is amazingly beautiful though it's one full day round trip well worth it though. Haleakala (means house of the sun) is the dormant volcano and provides the most amazing sunrise/sunset ever (be prepared for very chilly weather it's 10,000 feet up) if you like active take the bike ride tour down the mountain. Have a great time.

you will possibly need to flow to LaHaina, a small city made for buying! Cruise front street (observed as so considering's good next to the sea) and save away! additionally, while you're into nature, the lusher areas of Maui are on the "smaller circle" area of the island. around Ka'annipali, that's rather especially- additionally in many cases expensive, nonetheless, in case you elect to stay there. I even have heard super thoughts relating to here-Mama's Fish abode and going as much as the Volcano to observe the daybreak- bit have not executed the two. additionally, do no longer purchase any entertainment issues till you get there. you would be able to nicely be tempted to e book a luau or a snorkeling holiday or a helicopter holiday appropriate away, yet there are one hundred little shops which will sell you the comparable element for a million/2 the fee once you get there. those issues are on no account complete, so in simple terms wait and flow to one in all those little booking shops and you will save a kit. there are a number of in LaHaina. in any different case, the Mahi Mahi is devine, I ordered it each time i'd desire to! And while you're tempted to e book a Princess Dinner Cruise-do no longer. My husband and that i did and it became very low fee, we concept. And while you're going quickly, you would be able to get a guess to work out some whales- i've got faith they mate there till would. Have a physically powerful holiday!
