In about a week and a half I will be flying by myself for the first time. I usually fly with someone else who takes care of the baggage and everything but this time it is only me. What kind of routine would you sugguest? Any other details would be helpful. Feel free to give me details up to the leaving the destination airport (someone would pick me up as opposed to taking a cab or renting a car).

I fly by myself all the time. It's really no big deal at all.

I always have someone drop me off at the airport when I leave home so I don't have to worry about parking.

I always make sure I get to the airport at least 1.5 hours prior to flight time if it's a smaller airport and at least 2 hours prior to flight time if it's a larger or busier airport.

I go to the ticket counter and check in for my flight. I always ask where my seat is (asile, middle or window). I prefer not to sit in the middle, so I if that's where I'm sitting I ask if they can move me to a window or asile seat, even if it's in the back (where most people don't want to sit).

After getting my ticket I go to security. While in line I take off my watch, silver braclet and other jewery or items that may set off the metal dector and put them in my carry on.

After going through security I head in the direction of my gate. If I have enough time I will browse the shops or get something to eat. I always use the bathroom right before they begin boarding.

Once on the plane I make sure I have my book or other reading material and a bottle of water. Sometimes I'll talk to the person seated next to me, other times I keep to myself.

Upon landing I make sure I gather my belongings and call someone back home to let them know I've made it safely. I deplane, use the bathroom and head to baggage claim. I get my bags (which are marked with bright pink tags so I know they're mine) and head out to catch my ride.

I always make sure I travel with my itinary, a list of my medical conditions, medications and drs, hotel reservations and phone number, rental car info (if I'm renting a car) and any other information I'll need. I keep all of my papers in a folder or manilla envelope in my carry on.

Get somebody to pick you up and drop you off, parking is too expensive.
Don't worry about baggage and check-in and such, just join the queue, and the airline staff will surely assist you in every way possible.
Information regarding your gate, check-in, boarding pass, and baggage, will be provided by check-in staff.
Don't worry, you'll be fine flying.
Depending on your tastes, you may want to request a seat with people or away from people, if they're available.
Cheers, and enjoy your flight!!
