there attitude on violence depends on the branch of Hinduism.
For example the English word thug comes from the name of a
Hindu branch that promoted violence.

There belief of reincarnation is largely similar to Buddhists.Do good things and good things happen, do bad and bad things happen. Eventually you should reach Nirvana which can be like paradise or one with the universal essence.
The cast system has been illegal for a long time now, but a lot
of them still are unwilling to marry outside there social class.

The cast was established over 3,500 yrs ago by Europeans
who immigrated there. Originally there were four groups the top three were made of Europeans and the bottom one of people of the land. Eventually it broke down into even more groups.

According to Bhagavad Gita - the essence of Vedic Scriptures:

Unnecessary violence is condemned. But there is some thing called necessary violence also. For the purpose of maintenance of Law and Order, and establishment of Law of God, Violence is must. Hence such violence must be enforced and if a person in-charge is nonviolent then he is called coward. Where not needed, the follower of Vedic Culture is not interested in killing even an ant.

Science of Reincarnation is explained in Great Depth in Bhagavad Gita. The basis is the principle that the soul does not die with the body at death. It takes another body depending upon his qualification and desires. Please read Bhagavad Gita for in-depth information about this. It is much different from the Buddhist concept of Nirvana. According to Bhagavad Gita, Soul can never dissolve. Ultimate destination is hence going back to the kingdom of Godhead.

In Bhagavad Gita, Krishna says that the Human Society is divided into 4 divisions (also called caste system). They are Priestly Class, Administrative/ law enforcing class, Business Class, and Labor Class. This is done for the proper maintenance of Society. The purpose of this division is that each class has their respective Duties. In Vedic society, every one must do his duty. Just like Duty of a Police is different from Duty of Priest. Police should never tolerate disobedience of law or insult of law but priest is engaged in cultivation tolerance. Similarly Business Class has to look after economic self-sufficiency of the society. Not that they become greedy and exploit workers or try to mold Law according to their desire. Administration class however cannot engage in Money Making. They should establish proper codes in the society. These divisions are not for enforcing Dominance of one class over other, but for upliftment of mankind by proper execution of respective Duty as enjoined by God himself.
