you guys "Catholics, and Christians" say that the world is 6,000 years old, but there is proof that even civilization is about 12,000 years old. And when there is evidence that points to the older years you have a tendency to ignore the facts?
The number that the religious people use was basically pulled from a hat by a priest on his death bed, and the same thing goes for Noah"s flood year.
Why don't they just acknowledge that they are wrong on this or is it the fact they are just brainwashed into believing that they are right?
And if you guy's are trying to disprove something you don't take into account everything, but just what you are told by people that have a tendency to adjust, and censor the book you read?
book used for the dates "From the Tigris to the Tiber. an introduction to ancient history" - by Tom B. Jones

Why should I believe in a flawed dating process? Man is flawed, you can only trust in God's inspired word for truth. The earth is millions of years old, but man has only been here for a little over 6000 years.

I am a Christan and here are some things that I have been tought...
Was all physical creation accomplished in just six days sometime within the past 6000 to 10,000 years?
The facts disagree with such a conclusion: 1) Light from the Andromeda nebula can be seen on a clear night in the northern hemisphere. It takes about 2,000,000 years for that light to reach the earth, indicating that the universe must be at least millions of years old.
2) End products of radioactive decay in rocks in the earth testify that some rock formations have been undisturbed for billions of years.
Genesis 1:3-31 is not discussing the original creation of matter or of the heavenly bodies. It describes the preparation of the already existing earth for human habitation. This included creation of the basic kinds of vegetation, marine life, flying creatures, land animals, and the first human pair. All of this is said to have been done within a priod of six days. However the Hebrew word translated "day" has a variety of meanings, including'a long time;the time covering an extraordinary event'(old testament word studies Grand Rapids, MIcn; 1978, W.Wilson p.109) The term used allows for the thought that each "day" could have been thousands of years in length.
So with this being said: Not all of us are adjusting to the idea that the world is 6000 years old...
But then again Im a Jehovahs Witness and we do things a little differant..

Many people resort to the claim "YOU HAVE ALL BEEN BRAINWASHED". This is because your argument is weak and when that happens people resort to name calling.
Unless you where there at the beginning can you say without a doubt that Mr. Tom B. Jones and his colleagues have not been working hard to brainwash you?
Take a good hard look at biblical prophecy that has been fulfilled to date then get back to us.

You want to talk about "brainwashed..."
The Roman Catholic Church, as the largest Christian denomination in the world, officially endorses evolution. Now, what else do you suppose you are wrong about? Maybe its time to study what Christians actually believe.

Not every Christian believes as you have stated. I for one believe the earth is millions of years old. I think it got the way it is through evolution. However, I feel that God is what got everything rolling.

The late Dr. Carl Sagan, professor of Cosmology at Cornell University, says the universe is only 1 month old. What do you have to say about that. He won and Emmy and Pulitizer for his work. What do you have to say about that!
