I feel sorry for soldiers and their families.

They are all just human beings being used by ruthless people.

Soldiers are used to attain the goals of governments. Just bodies. They are just men in a machine. I feel sorry for those who are not career soldiers, the guys who are in over their necks in death and bad politics. The common soldier is usually just a nice guy in a nasty situation.

Their families are in a tough situation and they also deserve support as human beings. It is difficult to know a loved one is putting him/herself on the line and may never come home. Or, if he comes home, what horrors will have warped his mind or damaged his body? That is a horrible thing to live with on a daily basis. The children who never meet Daddy or Mummy.

Many begin their military careers thinking they are there to defend their country and all that military stuff, but most end up disillusioned by the time it is all over.

I was married for 3 years to a soldier, and personally I am extremely proud of what I did, and of what my husband did. It's not easy and they can use all the support they can get. I think it's honorable to be a soldier, to put your life in harm's way to defend your country. And it's honorable to be the person who supports that soldier. You have no idea what it's like to lay in bed at night and wonder if the person you love the most in the world is dead. I can tell you now, that having a good support system at home is the most important thing to a soldier.

At any rate, even if you don't support the war..please support the troops. It's a hard lifestyle to live, but it has to be done.

I like us! lol. What exactly is it you want to know?
My husband has been deployed many many times. If he's not deployed then he's usually on some training exercise or elsewhere for the Army. But, I will wait as long as I have to. I know some soldiers have gotten a bad rap, but thats not true for the majority. All the soldiers I know are very dedicated to their jobs, sadly their families may come 2nd, but atleast we understand why they do it. Military life is something, nobody can understand until they are involved.
It is a long, hard, lonely life for the families, all with the hope after 20yrs they will retire and we will have them to ourselves. We spend most of our time missing each other, and the rest of it getting used to being together. It is a constant struggle. But its something you become accustomed to doing. The families learn how to be single parent families and juggle everything we need to survive. We just sit here and occupy our time until they return. We love our soldiers, we love our families and we balance as best as we can. It takes a strong man to be a soldier, but an even stronger woman to love him.
As the saying goes, The Army wife: its the hardest job in the Army.

As an Army Wife of a currently deployed soldier, I thank everyone who supports us. I know i am only one of many wives but the sense of pride in what our husbands do, and what we deal with on a regular basis makes us stronger. Trying to raise 3 kids while your husband is deployed and their deployment keeps getting extended is hard, but honestly I think I have the easy end of it. The day my husband left I watched all the people in my husbands unit say goodbye to their children and wives, knowing that they wouldnt be home for a long time. To be able to walk away from a family and walk into a situation such as a war, cannot be easy. Thank you to every soldier, sailor, ect...who was still able to hold their head high and walk away from their loved ones and go and fight for their freedom.

American Soldiers are the true Patriots of this generation, willing
to follow the call to duty of our Great Country. The Families who
support them and wait for them share in their Honor and sacrifice
We have always had cowards , in our midst , in every war.so we
must endure to tolerate them. They do not represent the Real
Americans . They are fair weather Americans, willing to enjoy
the Liberties , paid for by the blood of Fallen American Soldiers.

My son is in Iraq right now. We pray for his--and ALL soldiers'-safety every day.
They are doing the job they promised to do when they joined the military--even though they may have joined BEFORE the war, like my son did.
They promised to be there for there country if needed, and we need to be there for THEM, too.
No matter how they feel about the war, they are honoring the commitment they made.

I feel badly for the soldiers; I have empathy for their loved ones.

To be an occupying force in a country that does not want us there; to be a daily target of insurgents from several factions; to not be able to tell the difference between innocent citizen and insurgent, and to possibly be court martialed for not knowing the difference if anyone is killed; I would not be able to survive in such an environment.

Lastly, to be a loved one at home, hearing all of the news from Iraq, with a possible war brewing in Iran, must be devastating.

I think they are making the utmost sacrifice for our freedom and the commitment they made to the U.S. when they volunteered. I am grateful, I am saddened for them and their families and as in any group we may have a few bad ones but I have the utmost respect for and gratitude who have so bravely served and are serving.

I would like to see a draft for all those wealthy or politically advantaged enough to avoid these sacrifices leaving them with nothin to contribute but destructive criticism. The people who sink to this level care nothing about our freedom, our military or our country.

They just want to roll over and pretend we are all warm, safe, and cozy.

it's called denial and they will wail the most when we all hve to pay for their negative influence in the long term.

I'm proud of them. I used to be one. The families that wait for them are no different than anyone elses who has a loved one who is away doing something they believe in.
