forgot that there are different types of religion and we believed that we are all fellow beings praying and waiting on the One God. Which in reality whom God loving people worship. Whether it is Yahweh,Allah, etc. God made man and woman - not religion - his creation did that, and in doing so, they have in turn created the biggest mess that we the poor creatures of this unfortunate planet have to deal with. God must be wondering when he looks down and sees all of us arguing over HIM. Sad - Don't you think

I know it sounds great to imagine if we could all believe the same thing. It is also very naiive, short-sighted, youthful, idealistic, and sweet.
The biggest impediment to this is the Bible, which teaches that there is only one way to the Father and that is through Jesus Christ. So for Christians to believe in God, they do so through the lens of Christ and cannot equally accept Allah, for example, as a figure to worship, or they are no longer Christians by definition.

You are correct when you say that religions (as well as denominations within religion)s are a big mess and they are largely man-made. Their problems, too, are largely man-made.

The Bible teaches that we are fallen creatures, awaiting Christ's second coming and that we will not be free of this bondage to sin this side of heaven. (Which is not to say we should go on sinning....it's just an acknowledgment of our smallness in comparison to God's greatness.)

People get all bent, saying "Well, if my friend Jacob is going to hell just because he's Jewish, I'm not interested in that religion."
Well, IMO, Christians who have the hubris to be able to predict who "is" and "isn't" going to heaven or hell, are just immature...along the same lines as a 5 year old who keeps inviting and uninviting people to her birthday party, depending on her mood.(I have one of those....) The good part about the heaven/hell question is that, of course, this is not up to human whim, but to be decided by almighty God. So I stop listening even to other Christians when they start being exclusive about Christianity. He came "that all might have life, and have it abundantly."

And to your last remark.....I don't think God has to wonder about much....considering He's omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent. ;< )

AUTHOR OF CONFUSION
God is not the author of confusion, it is man, who because of his hypocrisy, his ulterior motives and his vested interests, has created so much confusion in their beliefs about the "same God" and thus has, in the name of God, destroyed countless innocent human lives besides dividing mankind Into Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus etc. God sent all his Prophets with one and the same message which was "Worship none but the one and only Almighty imageless God".
Thus there is only one religion since the first man set foot on earth till today.

God did in fact make religion and not just people. it was god that sent the bible down to the people and it was also god that send the Koran. and in the bible and the Torah god send that if there shall ever be another religion sent down to his people, that that is the correct religion to follow. there for it is Islam

i highly suggest that you read about it. i did and it changed my life and it did so for many other converts that i know including myself. people portray it wrong on TV and other things just cuz there are a few bad ones in the group. and the bad ones are present in any religion. when when was the last time you saw a Muslim on cops or Americas most wanted. but you always see the same (1) Muslim on TV doing something wrong and all of society places blame on all Muslims

good site to go to is www.whyislam.com

And yet, this would leave out those people who do not believe in a deity, or who believe in many deities, or whose deity is their Self. Wouldn't it be great if we all just lived let live, without needing to unite under a religious belief, or use such beliefs to divide and judge? Wouldn't it be nice if we could view these different beliefs as interesting in their own rights, without needing to conform with our own ideas, or one singular idea? Wouldn't it be nice if differences in opinion about religion were as uniquely respectable, but socially inconsequential, as what music we prefer to listen to?

When Sanatana Gosvami asked Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu about the svarupa of every living being, the Lord replied that the svarüpa, or constitutional position, of the living being is the rendering of service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead. If we analyze this statement of Lord Caitanya's, we can easily see that every living being is constantly engaged in rendering service to another living being. A living being serves other living beings in various capacities. By doing so, the living entity enjoys life. The lower animals serve human beings as servants serve their master. A serves B master, B serves C master, and C serves D master and so on. Under these circumstances, we can see that one friend serves another friend, the mother serves the son, the wife serves the husband, the husband serves the wife and so on. If we go on searching in this spirit, it will be seen that there is no exception in the society of living beings to the activity of service. The politician presents his manifesto for the public to convince them of his capacity for service. The voters therefore give the politician their valuable votes, thinking that he will render valuable service to society. The shopkeeper serves the customer, and the artisan serves the capitalist. The capitalist serves the family, and the family serves the state in the terms of the eternal capacity of the eternal living being. In this way we can see that no living being is exempt from rendering service to other living beings, and therefore we can safely conclude that service is the constant companion of the living being and that the rendering of service is the eternal religion of the living being.

Yet man professes to belong to a particular type of faith with reference to particular time and circumstance and thus claims to be a Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist or an adherent of any other sect. Such designations are non-sanatana-dharma. A Hindu may change his faith to become a Muslim, or a Muslim may change his faith to become a Hindu, or a Christian may change his faith and so on. But in all circumstances the change of religious faith does not affect the eternal occupation of rendering service to others. The Hindu, Muslim or Christian in all circumstances is servant of someone. Thus, to profess a particular type of faith is not to profess one's sanatana-dharma. The rendering of service is sanatana-dharma.

" Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful" -Seneca

"I feel no need for any other faith than faith in human beings. Like Confucius of old, I am so absorbed in the wonder of Earth and life upon it, that I cannot think of heaven and the angels." -Pearl S. Buck

No. I love the differences. It makes the world more interesting. Religion is only one of a multitude of excuses that man uses to argue, fight and cause havoc. If they didn't have religion to argue over, it would be something else.

wow that was incredibly narrow-minded, ignorant and outright ridiculous...
why should people of other religions have to give up their beliefs to suit your narrow definitions of there being only one god and that it is a man...

and more importantly why would you waste your time in thinking that any such creature could actually exist?

Religion was made as a way to control the masses.

Most religions do have similar beliefs when it comes to their "GOD"

Religion is mind control with a twist.
