I can't tell you how much they cost; but they are purebred, so they'll set you back some. Make sure you visit the breeder, see the parents, and get a puppy which has been raised with people--not in a kennel somewhere. Chihuahuas are prone to nervousness, and being raised somewhere where they aren't exposed to a lot of new things can create a really neurotic dog. As puppies, small dogs need to become used to household noises like vacuums and loud voices, etc., or they will be afraid of these things when they are first exposed to them.

Small dogs with short fur--most Chihuahuas do have short fur, though there are longhaired varieties--should wear a doggy sweater in cool temperatures. You can get plain doggy sweaters for very little; or you can make one yourself if you're crafty.

Chihuahuas are extremely small dogs--smaller than most cats. That makes them quite fragile; they would not make good pets in a house with small children or large, boisterous dogs--especially sighthounds, which may see them as prey.

Chihuahuas do need to be trained just like any other dog; in fact, with their tendency towards nerves, training is extremely important. When you train a dog, you show it not only that you are its leader, but that you are to be trusted as a protector. With a small dog like a Chihuahua, giving it the feeling that you are predictable and strong is important.

To summarize, Chihuahuas do make good pets, if some precautions are taken: Get a puppy with a good temperament from a reputable breeder; make sure the small dog is protected from hazards; and train it well to discourage anxiety and create trust.

Depends on where they come from, if they're from a professional breeder they're bound to be more expensive than one you could adopt from the shelter. I got my chihuahua for around $300 from my friend.
No, they don't have to wear clothes all the time, but it's a good idea to have at least one little sweater or something because they're small and shiver a lot and can't always produce enough body heat.
Yes, they make great pets! My chihuahua is actually pretty lazy and loves to sit on my lap. They like going on short walks as well.

the cost manily depends on the state. in texas they cost around $250-$500. They do not have to wear clothes they are dogs all the chihuahuas that i have had never wore clothes, but one and that was for fun. They are really good pets when trained right they can be very over guarding and some bark at every little noise. If you get a good one trained right you will have a good dog.

a chihuahu will cost anywhere from 350 dollars up to 1500 dollars, depending on the color and the area of the breeder. the most expensive is the blue or lavendar chihuahuas. they are the ones who cost upward of 1500 dollars. chihuahuas dont have to wear clothes, but it is a good idea to wrap them in a blanket if you take them anywhere because they are so prone to being cold. and yes, chihuahuas make excellent pets, they are very loyal and will do their best to protect you, even from dogs much larger than themselves. they have the heart of a lion in a little tiny package. they say dynamite comes in small packages and nitro in even smaller. chihuahuas classify as nitro.

It depends on the breeder, i've seen them for free and up to $500 dollars. No they don't have to wear clothes but its a good idea if its cold out cuz they are naturally slim dogs and are tiny and might not be able to produce enough body heat. Yes they do but they are VERY VERY yippy and barky but they make good little watch dogs.

It depends on where you get them
you can look at breederinfrocente.com
Do not buy a dog, without looking out it first
My sister has one, and her family loves her very much
Yes, for some people
No they do not have to wear clothes
If you live where it gets cold, a coat may be needed
I would look at some, maybe buy a book or magazine about them
If you like the breed, you will love them
I personally not crazy about them, but it's not going to be my dog.
