Alright - here's the scoop. My and my boyfriends one year anniversary is 3 days after valentines day!

For Christmas i bought him Phoenix Suns Tickets...they were NOT cheap...as well as t shirts from american eagle, and a build-a-bear dresses with a suns jersey (over $250 total)....and for his birthday - 9 days after christmas - i bought him a Stoudemire jersey...also NOT cheap (about $100).

I already know what i'm doing for our anniversary...it costs around $50. Does anyone have any creative ideas for valentines day that don't cost a lot??
....these past few months have been expensive...

oh,by the way,he's in college, i'm in high school...and i don't currently have a job. ughh...please help!

i'm creative and love making things...but i've made him a lot of things for past anniversaries...

he love's sports, especially basketball. he's tall...and really cute. = ] he's basically up for anything and is pretty laid back.

I NEED HELP! PLEASE HELP ME!

thx. = ]

it goes both ways. for my birthday last year, he got me a diamond necklace. for christmas he got me a diamond ring as well as perfume, dvds, and stuffed animals.

we both only do large gifts for big events...birthdays, christmas, and year anniversaries. we keep it cheap oother than those days.

and we both love eachother beyond the gifts. he always tells me all he needs is my love...but i love to surprise him. = ]

so please don't think i'm over doing it...i only do big things 3 times a year...

and about the baking a cake...i was thinking about cupcakes...but i want some other ideas, too, before i decide.

Thanks!

Sweetheart...it is not about how much money you spend!!! I noticed that throughout your question, you kept mentioning how much things cost. Focus on the important things, like what makes your relationship great, the things you appreciate about him, etc. I know that, because he is in college, you want to appear to be a cool girlfriend, but there are things that you can do to show your love that don't cost a lot. And believe me, gifts that come from the heart mean just as much as the one's you spend a lot of money on.
Here are some idea's...
-Take some digital pictures of places or things that have been meaningful to your relationship...for example, where you had your first date, first kiss, etc. Use those photos, along with pictures of you together to make a scrapbook. Most college guy's don't have a lot of photos...and this will be something he can hang on to and look at when you two are apart.
-Bake him cookies...they are a lot easier to mail than cupcakes. Decorate them with things like the date of your anniversary, nicknames you have for each other, etc. Mail them in Tupperware.
-Write him a love letter.
Good luck to you.

Thought counts. Make him something. i.e. a quilt. I know that in some places you can have a photo transfered onto a shirt, cover, pillow case. Ask around about that place. If he doesn't like a gift from you heart then he's just in it for the free stuff......or YOUR stuff. But if you don't wanna trust me ( a 12 yaer old ) then don't. I've had 15 boyfriends since age 5. I know this stuff! I don't make money, so how do you think I do gifts?!?

He says he just wants your love. In this situation, it seems like there's a ton of pressure to keep buying expensive stuff. If he loves you like you say he does, then he won't want all that expensive stuff. Lay low on that. Give him a card that you made. Not over the top, but just write a small note and decorate it in some small way. If he's laid back, I'm sure that something small would get rid of any pressure to give expensive stuff. But before you do, let him know that you're going small on this one, so it doesn't get awkward.

Make a scrapbook of your first year together. Later you can both look back and remember all the good times you had.

Well If he has a sence of humor get him some of those dorky heart boxers and a card and then just have like a laid back dinner and watch a movie. :D

Buy him something original, and within your budget. He will appreciate it even if it's not expensive. What really counts is your intention not the price of the gift.
