Well, no one knows exactly what it is since it's something in the future that's not yet being proven. Religion has nothing to back it up except faith and science can't prove it's existence. The Bible, which is the primary source of information in regards to the coming of the antichrist aka the beast said the symbol of identification will be 666 and not a lightening bolt. Still I must commend your powers of creative imagination.

Like many things in the Bible, you have to pondering them and decide if they are to be taken literally or not. "If your left hand causes you to sin, cut it off..." Is that to be taken literally?

The mark of the beast may not be literal. The forehead is the center of cognitive thought. Orthodox Jews place a philactory here and concentrate on that spot as a means to focus one's thought through the center of the conscious mind, and hence, become more fully aware of the law in prayer.

The mark of the beast on the forehead may mean the conscious act of accepting evil in one's cognitive mind, that is, of consciously chosing evil.

Years ago, some people thought Gorbachev was the beast because he has a birth mark on his forehead.

Nobody really knows the exact meaning of things in Revelation, and maybe they were written very figuratively on purpose so as to hint at things, but not fully reveal that which was to unfold.

I seriously doubt any christian would consider Harry Potter as the beast.

I don't agree with that. The "mark" will be inforced by the anti-christ. I think it will be more like a chip under the skin and it is foretold either in the forehead or right hand.

No, absolutely not. My cat is not a tattoo artist. His mark is multiple scratches and bite wounds, usually on arms, hands, feet and legs.

Incidentally, he prefers the name "Der Tanz Der Schatten" over "The Beast," "Catface" or "Public Enemy #1".

And that's HERR Der Tanz Der Schatten to you.

Ahahaha. That is hilarious. I'd think you people would be more concerned that the actor playing him is in a play about a man having an erotic relationship with a horse and riding it naked on stage. Priorities, people.
