Actually allot of the weapons are left over from the previous war between Iran, and the Iraq. These are old or out dated weapons. Some of the weapons found are in the black market as well. The Russian government does not sell weapons to Iran directly. Iran does have the capability to manufacture weapons, and does so because of the turmoil the USA and the former Soviets have created. There is however a very big BLACK MARKET that exists. That is where most of the Nuclear weapons sold to Usama Bin Laden have come from the former Soviet Union. The 80 Back Pack nuclear weapons that are missing from the Russian arsenals. Oh and by the way Iran is allowed to defend its self any way it sees fit. We are not the Roman Empire. Empire building died along time ago, and WWII is over, ok. The OUT OF TOUCH LEADERS we have don't know that however, and insist on using us as cannon fodder. Most of the weapons used to kill Iraqi innocent children, and women are manufactured right here in the good old USA.

The US intelligence you are referring to is the SAME as the intelligence we were getting under the Clinton administration. Hillary Clinton said so back in 02 when we first were deciding whether or not to go to Iraq. You are also DEAD wrong in your assessment that Bush is getting oil for his friends.

Russia sold the tech to Iran to make weapons, some of the ones they are finding have Iranian serial numbers on them. Thats why intelligence is saying that the insurgents are getting weapons from Iran. Bush is not to blame for everything!!! I wish you would realize that. I dont agree with everything Bush has done over the past 6 years. But I do believe he was the best choice at the time. Both Gore and Kerry are not strong on defense issues.

Iran is no friend of any country in the free world.
They repress their woman and anyone who doesn't believe what they believe.

Iran does produce 81 mm mortars and 122 mortar as do many of the old Soviet Bloc, Chinese, and N. Korea do today.

Iraqs old mortars were mainly 81mm so someone got some shells from Iran big deal.
Hell the US using a so called Non Governemtnal Charity Group. a CIa front, based at time in Jordan bought Iranian mortars, 81 and 122 along with N. Korean Aks to arm Islamic rebel groups in Balkans by shipping them through Pakistan to two main Islamic groups, one called Black Eagles so they could raise hell and make it seem US and Eurppe had to interevene in Balkans. Operations called , military likes high sounding names for dirty jobs, "The Greater Albanian Campaign". Google it.

The 81mm mortar is actually a better one than our old 82mm and been around forever.
As for the shaped charges they say Iranians are making for them that take oh so special machine work, well I persoanlly seen hand run lathes the VC used to form the metal piercing portion of a shape charge in Viet Nam damn near fifty years ago.
Do not try and tell me the Iraquis were too dumb to learn how to make them themsleves or have an Iranian machine shop produce them.

Not only that but the MEK who is on our terrorist list yet, we now support are an Iranian based group who never stopped fighting Iraq by crossing from Iran into Iraq and are still wanted by Iran for trying to making a new country out of Irans territory for another minority group.
