I have a neighbore..and shes old.
she has 6 children and there all married,the problem is she hasn't seen them for along long time and haven't even heard from them.
They dont even ask about her.
Ive been talking to her for some while..having breakfast,cooking for her..talking about my life,making her feel happy..
Today she told me to call her..''mom''
I felt so loved..and in the same time I hated all her children for leaving her all by herself.
All I know when I get married I would never leave my mother..I would always visit her..even if Im in another country I'd still call her.
the Q is..would u?

No. I am very close to my mum and can't really imagine life without her. I still get irritated by her sometimes but moving out (but nearby) solves that.
Some people don't get on well with their families which is obviously a real shame.
However the woman doesn't exactly sound like a dragon. However you don't really know the circumstances. Maybe her childrens other halves won't let them see her etc.
Try not to get too emotionally involved as you don't know both sides of the problem :S
Its nice that she has you though and personally I'd pity the children for missing out on this great woman.

That is very nice of you to be the daughter figure in this woman's life. I think it is a shame that her children have abandoned her, but keep this in mind: You don't really know the whole story as to why they stay away. Maybe they had a rough childhood and a bad relationship with this woman. I know it sounds inconceivable, but there is always two sides to every story. Continue to be there for her and what you are doing is very honorable. To answer the last part of your question the answer is no. I never abandoned her. My mom is passed away and she was and still is number one in my heart.

Remember though, You did not grow up as her daughter. You do not know what she may have done repeatedly to her children through the years to cause this reaction of their s. Before you judge another, place yourself in there shoes Completely.
As one judges, so too do they become judged.
I am not religious, I just believe this.
Just as other s may look at things you have done in life and say "how could she ever do that " .
I would leave my mother if I had too in order to survive life. If she was stopping my growth towards experienceing Life.
Our parents are our parents in name only. We are all spirits in bodies, nothing more nothing less.

And I do. Just talked to my mother last night on the phone.
I think it is so sad about some of the elderly get left behind and forgotten.
I rented pasture from a senior citizen. Would talk to him most everyday, check up on him since I was there with my horse. He would wheel his wheelchair out to my horse and talk with him and pet him feed him every day.
I finally found pasture closer to my home so I moved my horse. If I new he was so attached to my horse and me being one of the only person coming over to check on him I would have never moved my horse. He passed on and two days later they found him......I was crushed when I herd the news.....

I still talk to my mom and dad almost every day on the phone, yeah we get into our arguments but no matter how close a spouse is you still love your family. I am glad that you are helping this woman. She sounds like she needs someone to just care about her.

Well...No, i wouldn't but my mom lives in Germany and i live in Florida but i still talk to her over the phone and see her every summer with my children and we are all a happy family that cares about everyone, u see my dad's side lives in America and my mom's family lives in Germany and Singapore!

Though I don't like my parents because of the way they are, they are family. I will definitely visit them from time to time.
