Probably because people are starting....and I say starting to open their eyes!

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that the Hell in many translations is Sheol [OT] and Haides [NT]. And, Gehenna, which most also translate very inaccurately as HELL is a metaphor for eternal destruction taken from the "Valley of Hinnom" where Jerusalem as a city used to dump the rubbish of the city to include those criminals that did not rate a decent burial.

Oh, I am sure Jehovah's Witnesses have done much to shine light on this also, because they will be the first to tell you that it just isn't compatible to the God of the Bible's personality.

"And they have built the high places of To′pheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hin′nom, in order to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, a thing that I had not commanded and that had not come up into my heart.’" -Jeremiah 7:31

I don't believe in hell with fire and you burn forever and whatever....
I believe that hell is how you live, if you are a bad person, you can never achieve happiness, real happiness if you have evil in you...
You also have God, peace inside you, should you choose to follow the good in you, no need to fear hell.

I like the Disney movie Hunchback of Notre Dame, where that gay minister starts singing about "hell fire"
Hope that helps.

Being is Hell is like being buried alive for all eternity, an existence of being in darkness at the same time as being responsive on your ecosystem. The Hell fireplace is metaphoric, the guy reports non secular suffering no longer actual suffering brought about with the help of their personal sins. as an get mutually enable say you harm someones emotions in this existence, in the afterlife you get to adventure what they felt besides the undeniable fact that the soreness not in any respect is going away. that is like the harm the guy brought about to themselves and others is again upon them in the afterlife. and thanks to their hatred in route of God and themselves this suffering is eternal. it is God's wrath.
