I start by going with the flow to see where things are leading. After a while, I look at the future and ask if I can live longer with this person. How will they be if we marry, etc. But, I don't make plans per se.

22 is old enough and mature and responsible enough for an adult relationship, which is dating and getting to know each other, talking about a future together, not entering into a physical relationship that degrades you or compromises your future.
Date, no sex, think about marriage.

Are you in school? Well you don’t go out, or do nothing with no one unless you do know him/her real well. And if you want a future, do not, I say do not do a stupid thing you might regret it behind schedule.
