Plus, the magic "sauce" is what we on Earth call gravy. And we mash potatos to maked "mashed" potatos.

take standard instant potatoes and follow the directions --- it is how it is done at KFC --- I used to work their about 15 years ago. That is how they make theirs. As for the sause, out of the can brown gravy is nearly the same.

You could probably come close to it by buying a jar of gravy, at the supermarket; they're pretty bad, you should love it.

they used dried flakes from packages-- both for the potatoes and the gravy.
its not the best quality.
