i know this sounds completely nuts and paranoid, but he has just been acting a little odd lately. like one night i came home from work early, looking for some sex, and he was in the bedroom, having a sort of ritual, with all the lights off and a bunch of candles lit. it really freaked me out. and sometimes he says weird things, like "by lucifer" and such. i love him so much, and the question of marriage has popped up a few times, but i'm a catholic, and the whole idea of satanism just scares me.

satanism isn't even real. the book of satan was written by some guy and all it dwells in is on how to live an alternative lifestyle to that of Christianity. if he in fact is a "Satanist" he isn't doing anything bad... but if he is just dwelling on the idea of being some sort of poser satanic loser, then be afraid since he has no guide lines of what he is doing. the black bible followed by REAL satan worshippers speaks of nothing other than living an alternative lifestyle (and it isn't necessarily a bad thing, in fact it just gives advice on how to live and then has some rituals and what not).
if you really are freaked out and in the blue about this, then just ask him what gives. tell him to be straight forward with you about his beliefs and then you could choose to either accept or reject him. simple as that.

No matter what the guy's superstition/religion may be, it sounds like he's not right in the head. Your instincts are dead on...cut him loose. I know this is painfull, but seriously...I'm not religious but main stream religion is forced into most American's heads from the day they are born so for a guy to be going in the complete opposite direction is just a great big neon sign for mental instability.
And since you also mentioned that you were Catholic, then there's the outside chance that he's doing this on purpose to try to get you to end the relationship and he doesn't even really worship the devil. In this case the answer is the same....give him what he wants...cut him loose. I doubt you'll be sorry about it a year from now. Wouldn't you rather have someone who shares your beliefs or at least doesn't mock them? Think about it and good luck.

You love him right? Well... ask him? AS one other answerer pointed out... you are already going against the catholic upbringing by having pre-marital sex. So, if he turns out to be a devil worshipper, and you still love him... well, honey... do what feels good for YOU... not anyone else.

Good luck

i hate to bring up the point of maybe ur boyfriend having psychomatic characterticis . maybe he is suffering from mental or emotional problems that might go back to his childhood or maybe he is on some kind of drugs that alter his thinking. maybe u can talk to him on a good day and if he is having these symptoms from drugs maybe u can talk him into getting help. If it is from mental problems some medications would help. Wish u the best in this serious problem

I trust the posters that say discover out for your self. Get to understand the guy and ask him what he believes in, that's all. If he's a actual satanist my advice is to stay away! I went to this joyofsatan internet site and located here little Gem: "Workings of revenge and black magick are maximum suitable accomplished while the hated one is asleep. for the duration of sleep, the sufferer’s psychic defenses are down and the unconscious/suggestive strategies is super open." in my opinion, i like the christian suitable of 'love thy neighbor' and 'do good to thine enemy' so lots greater effective.

He's not a devil worshiper. I would have seen him at the meetings.

By the way - if you really were Catholic, the idea of premarital sex would scare you, too.

ok, you need to ask him about it. why try to figure things out and it take forever when you can just ask him to spare some heartache. he sounds like he is into something though, what i dont know.

That's the problem with religion! If both of you were not into this religion story, you'd not be having this problem.

He is into drugs maybe.
If you don't have proof of his being into satanism. then think about drugs.
