Fructose (sugar) in the fruit will help with the cravings. Have a whole or half a piece of fruit with and in between meals or whenever a craving comes up. Also avoid drinking sugar free drinks between periods of low carb meals. It tricks the body into thinking its getting sugar. This continues to intensify the cravings until you satisfy them (usually over-eating at meal time). Stay away from Atkins type diets, cravings will only cause you to cheat. Carbs are not bad for you.

Determine when and why you are eating them. If you find you crave them in the late afternoon, you might have low blood sugar. That could be because you ate too many carbs and not enough protein at lunch causing a "carbo crash". Your body craves the sweets and sugar to get your blood sugar back up.

To avoid it in the first place, eat more protein with your lunch. If you find that you do crave the sweets, substitute an apple and a bottle of water. The apple will satisfy your sweet craving, bring up your blood sugar naturally and the water will make you feel full.

I find that I crave sweets at night...when I'm tired. Our bodys crave quick energy when we are overtired and sometimes that comes out as craving sweets and sugar. If you find you're craving them at night, then maybe you're just not getting enough rest. If it's not too late, exercise for about 15 minutes and drink some water, that may help. If it's late, GO TO BED!

And finally, if this advice doesn't help, go get your blood sugar tested by the doctor. Just to be safe.

Sugar is ADDICTIVE. The best way to stop the cravings for it is to substitute refined sugar with raw sugar. Whenever you feel the need for something sweet, eat a few grapes or an apple. The natural sugar in the fruit will still raise your blood sugar, thus satisfying the craving, but it is harder for your body to break it down and store it as fat. It also takes longer for natural sugar to be processed out of your system because it is bound to the fiber in the fruit. This will help you feel the sugar cravings less often. Plus, you're getting valuable vitamins and anti-oxidants from the fruit!

i crave chocolate alot and sweets, so i'll usually just get sugar free chocolate from the super market, or just get chocolate that comes in small individual sizes, that way you can take care of your craving and not go overboard with eating to much of it.
