Has occassional abdo pain and heartburn also. The vomiting seems to be bought on by a cough in the mornings, unfortunatley she does smoke about 3 a day , which we are dealing with at the moment. Any ideas on cause of nausea and coughing please. Thanks

This has been on/off for about 4 months although it is getting worse and she has only just told me about the acid taste. At first I though it was because she did'nt want to get up for school and she has always been quite a sicky child suffering from severe motion sickness

Two theories:
1) does she cough up or be sick by herself in the bathroom. Is she picky with her food? Is she thin? Does she have low self esteem? Answer these questions truthfully and you might find she is anorexic. Then get medical help soon.
2) Does this happen when she tries to eat breakfast? Does she have constipation regularly? This could be a blockage in her stomach or intestines.
Does she have this because of a high acid diet? She could have developed an ulcer.
I strongly advise taking her to see her GP whatever your conclusion.
Good luck!

There are a number of causes for these symptoms. If they have lasted for more than a week she should see her GP. Make sure to drink plenty and keep food bland. Also when coming off even a small amount of cigarettes can be a shock to the system which needs to recover and remove all the toxins in the body, making you feel sick and with morning coughing!

Have you taken your daughter to the Dr. yet? Sounds like you should if you haven't. If she's vomiting every day she could easily get dehydrated. There is a medical explanation for the nausea, heart burn and vomiting. Could be a bad case of allergies. Since she has heart burn with this too, I would lean more towards the possibility of ulcers. Make an appointment with your Dr. He/She is the person to turn too for answers.

3 cigarettes, or 3 packs?? Maybe she has asthma, and the coughing is triggering the nausea from the mucous being swallowed while asleep. She may also have reflux disease, it is best if she sees a doctor.

yeah, I would do another check up, if you're daughter is sexually active then I've got a 50 that says she's pregnant and those ciggarettes are going to f up your grandchild. Take her in to see a doctor.

possible morning sickness can be from eating and laying down and falling asleep or constipation causing slow digestion or blockage.

I would guess the smoking would cause it. Do you know if she's drinking? This might also cause these issues.
