Every time I shave my face I get a severe rash, on my neck, my hair is too corse for an electric blade, I have tried them all, I have a top of the line blade and that doesn't solve it. I have to be clean shaven for my job. I only shave 3 times a week and still a bad rash. I have tried pre-shave lotions and post shave creams. I have let it grow in a little till it looked healed and one shave brought it all back. Nothing is working, any suggestions on creams or something that I might not have tried?

no it is definatly, it might be severe Razor burn, not sure, I try to do it lightly, so thanks for that, I have used differing gels and creams, and it is soley my razor, I will try changing the blades more so thanks. As I said electrics don't work on my beard I have tried them all, the last one, got me sent home from work, because the shadow was too noticable.

I can relate, I have had the same exact problems all my life

I found these things that REALLY help:

1) using a 3 blade razor, heated in hot water for a few minutes before shaving

2) heating my shaving GEL, not cream, in a pot of hot water for 20 min

3) dampening my face before I put the shaving GEL, not cream, on

4) using a cool water splash after shaving, and do NOT rub with a towel, just pat it dry

5) use an excellent non greasy, non allergenic after shave cream or lotion

some electrics are too harsh on the skin and the rapid turning blades abrade the skin too much for some skin types.

Try using a Schick Quattro razor, they're the best. Change blades every 4-6 shaves as you don't want them to get too dull (you can get the razors and blades on Ebay for a decent price).

Before you shave, take a hot shower. Then let your skin sit with water and shave cream on it for a while, this will soften the hair. Use Edge shave cream for sensitive skin or another cream made with moisturizers that says it is for sensitive skin. Try to shave in the same direction as your hairs grow, not against and avoid going over the same area over and over as much as possible with the razor when you shave.

Nivea for men makes an after shave balm that is very soothing after and specially designed to keep you from getting bumps. Smells great, too.

Good luck to you - hope my advice helps

Okay, so my man had this same problem. 1. Open your pores-only shave after your shower. Hot water open your pores which helps the hair detach a little easier. 2. I know this sounds funny-get the women's gilette razors for sensitive skin or with aloe strip!!! After words put on a light lotion. It helps to moisturize the broken skin!!! It is a whole lot of trouble to go through but it is worth it when you don't have to be looked at in funny ways!!! My man swears by the razors I introduced him. The ones with the aloe strip come in a green pack. The one for sensitive skin comes in a pink pack.

Damn... maybe you need to try different blades - rather than the top-of-the-line blades - also change the blades regularly - could be a hygiene issue. Also do not share the blade with anyone.

is it a rash or razor burn.... if its razor burn you may be pressing to hard when you shave or you need to get a better razor. if its an acutal rash you may be allergic to what ever product it is that you use to shave with.
