Well i know exactly how you feel. First off find an excersize buddy. They can push you without making you feel below them. And choosing not to work out will be harder.

Try to do cardio for 30 minutes (minimum)- three times a week
Also do some weightlifting (it wont make you look manly but it will definately help you shed weight!)

Now, I personally cannot handle diets. When I feel like I CAN'T eat something I just want it ten times more. So I eat what I want I just use portion control. Go by the serving size. If I want a small piece of cake today then tomorrow I dont get a dessert.

Also look at the food pyramid. Sticking to the basics are always great!

I like going to the gym, however if you're very insecure about your body then get some home videos.
Gym in a box
pushtv
and turbo jam are all really great

Healthy diet and exercise is the only way. Why not start by making some small changes? An easy way is to start walking every day for 1/2 an hour - or if that is too hard, start at 5-10 minutes a day and gradually work up. You don't need any equipment to do it besides a pair of comfortable shoes and it will get you going. Then you can gradually increase your workouts. Food - same thing - eliminate one bad habit this week and see how it goes - for example give up drinking soda with sugar and drink water or diet soda instead. Then next week, make another change. These little things really add up.

Check with your doctor and see what he recommends. I personally joined Weight Watvhers and had great success with it. It teaches you how to develop the healthy habits you need and gives you a structure you can apply for the rest of your life.

This is a gift you can give yourself. You will be healthier and you will feel better about yourself. It's not easy but it can be done. Good luck.

You don't seem to realize how precious you are. Being above your ideal weight is not healthy but there is a way to lose excess weight. Medifast is one option that is proven to work. Prevention magazine also has a book that talks about better choices in eating. Eating breakfast and getting adequate sleep and drinking enough water also helps as does getting enough calcium. don't try to lose weight alone, most people need support to make it successful. women that are above ideal body weight even by only 10% have a 12% higher risk of developing heart disease and the risk climbs, the more over ideal weight you are.

I'm a bloke and I lost 30 pounds in a few months using Slimfast tins. It's not something you keep doing - you switch to sensible foods once you've got the main weight off. Combine it with swimming - don't be afraid to go to the pool. Join an adult swimming class and there will only be a few of you in the pool. If you already swim, join an improver's class.

Start now - don't keep putting it off. Just do it. You'll be SO glad in a few months time. You'll see results in a few weeks.

Good luck!

How active are you? If you do walking, running, swimming etc. Maybe join a ladies football team, or netball team. Ymca have reasonable memberships that enable you to join exercise classes at a reasonable price. EAT sensibly and only snack on fruit or raw veg like carrots, celery etc. You might not be naturally skinny but you can retain a good figure by doing ALL of the above.

I can't tell from your question if you are actually overweight or if your peers are just being stupid and bothering you. But in any case..... I was picked on and bothered when I was young because of my weight, and I know how it hurts. I suffered terribly and still have emotional "scars" to this day because of it (and I'm 43 years old). You have to get really strong and try to tell yourself that what other people think is not what matters. You have to believe in yourself and learn that other people's opinions don't really matter. I know that is so hard and sounds crazy now, but it really is true and will be true for the rest of your life. A person's true beauty is not on the outside, but just do your best to take care of yourself - eat well, try to be active, and make yourself attractive to please YOURSELF, not someone else. I don't know how old you are, but I hope my "middle-aged" advice was helpful. =)

Oh dear :( ..what age are you?? If young then i,m sure your body will "adjust" in time ;) :) ..good diet ,excercise , ..know we all lurvve chocolate but can get sugar free etc these days ...but be careful if you plan to diet -do it properly ..and why not just start with walking -if you drive why not leave the car and burn off some calories??? Are you sure it isn,t any medical problem , thyroid etc ?? You really don,t want to be "skinny" ..we all have a certain weight for out height etc ..so find out what yours should be and then aim -you CAN do it if really want to ...as for the name calling ..easy to say ignore them /that but do ..as when you do get to the "size" you want to be ..believe me it will be THEM who will be soooo jealous ....don,t let it get you down ..get out there and live your life ...also please do not buy any of these "get slim quick pills" as you just don,t know what,s in them ...do it "naturally" ..chin up ,head high ..go girl go ..:) :)

you don't need to be skinny. You just need to be the right size for you.

If you truly need to lose weight, there are some good diet plans out there. I would suggest either Weight Watchers, or Jorge Cruise's 3 Hour Diet. Both have web sites.

In the meantime, learn to love yourself, no matter what your size.

Good luck honey.
