Technically you can serve any wine you want with any meal you want. But there are certain wines that compliment certain meals. What wine you serve with chicken will depend on the chicken dish. For example, a Coq Au Vin chicken dish would be better with a different wine that Chicken Cordon Bleu. I prefer red wine with everything. :-) Check out the website below for suggestions on what wine to serve with what food.

Historically it is considered correct to serve a white wine with chicken however it really depends on the dish and these days, the etiquette around wine has relaxed.
If you have a rich tomato based sauce or you're cooking coq au vin (which is cooked in red wine anyway) why not have red.
I would avoid sweet whites with chicken and save that for a rich game dish or pudding.
If you are not sure, white wine is usually a safe bet but most people these days don't care and so go with what you want.

No. But, Americans, who know very little about wine, invented some crazy rule about white wine with poultry and seafood. I cannot understand why in the world anyone would want to waste grapes on white wine, let alone drink the stuff when there are so many really good red wines.

Theoretically, white wine does compliment Chicken better than red because, like Chicken, it has more of a subtle, clean taste. That said, you can create all sorts of recipes with Chicken as it is so versatile. So, if you made a chicken curry, chilli or casserole you would probably want to serve it with a nice spicy red :)

Yes of course you can , I have always found that it's best to chill a couple of bottles of white wine, remove it from the fridge, take the cork off or unscrew the top to let it 'breath' for a few minutes' put your chicken in a plastic bag and sling the chicken in the bin, then settled down in front of the TV and enjoy your wine.
Hope this helps?

You could serve white wine when anyone is eating chicken but I think it's better when eating fish.

No, serve what you like. That rule is just for people who like rules, and wine is about taste, not colour. With roast or fried chicken, I'd serve a beaujolais or merlot perhaps. With a cold chicken salad, a sauvignon blanc or sancerre perhaps. But don't worry about it too much, most wine goes with most food, despite what the wine snobs say

traditionally white wine went with white meats and most fish and red wine went with red meats and more meaty fish like tuna. However nowadays it is entirely down to personal taste as to what you serve. I personally don't like red so serve white with any meal that I cook.

It's up to you and your taste.
Food snobs say you should drink white wine with white meat, fish etc and red wine with dark meat.
But if you want to have red wine with chicken then fill ya boots. Enjoy.

Ita all a matter of taste . There are only two kinds of wine . Wine that you like and wine that you dont ie: Tesco Cava is excellent and at £ 3.25 a bottle excellent value where as Vintage chablis from oddbins at £15.00 a bottle is total urine .
