if i dont eat for a day and just drink water to clean out my system....will that make me gain weight in the long run, or will that help me start new so i can start losing weight, i really want to lose about 5 pounds

It will help U loose weight. Once Ur stomach shrinks it takes less 2 fill U up when U do eat. I skip eating at least 3 days out of every week. Just drink a lot of water & U'll have a full feeling. Hope this helps or gives U something 2 think about.

Not eating for a day is like trying to drive your car for a day with no gas. Not a good idea. Plus, when you skip a day of eating, you tend to eat that much more the next day. That defeats the purpose.

You need between 1200 and 1800 calories a day just to live life normally, depending on your age.

If you want to lose 5 pounds, take a good look at what you eat.

Stop eating white flour products (bread, crackers, bagles),

Avoid store bought juice (it's almost as high in sugar and calories as soda),

Don't eat anything with added sugar (even check your spaghetti sauce, look for high fructose corn syrup) especially some of those meal replacement shakes and bars.

Drink skim milk: calcium has been shown to help weight loss.

Drink water instead of juice or soda. Avoid even diet soda. There are studies that show the chemicals in diet soda make you eat more AND gain weight.

Exercise (aerobic) for 30 minutes every day at least.

If you follow these things, you will be able to drop any excess weight.
But 5 lbs is not that much. Perhaps you should just concentrate on being healthy instead of the scale. Pay attention to how your clothes fit, not what the scale says. Those 5 extra pounds might not come off if you exercise but you might tone up enough that you LOOK better (and feel better). The scale is just a number....stop worrying about it.

That is a one day fast. Maybe you would prefer to drink only lemonade for 2 days. See site below for info on lemonade fast where Beyonce lost 20 pounds in 10 days. Also has info on fasting with just water with quotes from17 MDs since many are scared to go without food.

actually, drinking water doesn't make you fat. It's got nothing and feeling bloated after getting loads and loads of water does nothing. It only makes you pee. A lot.

If you want to lose fats, don't eat carbs. don't blame pure ol' water.

I understand you want to clean yourself out but I would try to fit some fruit in your cleansing diet
