I've dyed my hair several times over the last 2 or 3 years, and I realize it's impossible to get my natural hair colour back, but are there ways to remove hair dye from my hair? I've heard the term 'getting hair stripped', what does this mean? If there are procedures to remove hair dye, how much would this cost approximately?

Not sure if it matters, but my natural hair is a light dirty blonde, and I've dyed it a very dark brown as well as orangey red colours in the past, so right now it's an ugly brown with red tinge.

If I decide to let it just grow out, will I somewhat get my natural colour, even after years of dying?

Try just 'letting it grow' for about two months and then go get a 'crew cut' from your hair dresser ... the hair that is left will be your 'natural color' and that might be 'different' from the color your hair was before you started coloring it ... but it is still your 'natural color.' DO NOT HAVE ANY MORE CHEMICAL PROCESSES done to your hair. Eventually it will all 'grow out' and you'll have your 'natural hair color' again ... that 'crew cut' is just because you are 'sick of' your 'colored hair' ... and most women actually look really good with a 'crew cut' ... even for just as long as it takes to 'grow out' again ... and as to 'cost' ... I pay my hairdresser $30 for each 'haircut' he gives me, which is a bit on the 'high side' but I TRUST HIM with my hair, totally. You could go to a 'barber' and get it done for around $12 ... which isn't bad, considering how much you've 'damaged' your hair with all the 'color' you've put in it.

Hi! I've died my hair several times in the last 20 yrs. To get your natural hair colour back just let it grow out. Stripping your hair is using a hair lightening product, anything that takes the color out of your hair. You just look on the box and if it says will lighten hair that is the stuff. The most it will go is 7 shades lighter at a time. With the color you have now to get to blond it will have to go thru orange and red.

There are ways to do this but do NOT try to do it at home, put yourself in the hands of a professional. And I would suggest spending a bit more, going to a really topnotch place, not a neighbourhood hairdresser who's probably never done it before. No, your hair won't end up white, not if they know what they're doing. As to cost, it'll probably cost a bit more than a regular dye job since it's a specialist thing.
If as you say you've dyed your hair several times it may be a bit damaged. If your hair is long, you might consider getting it cut, not necessarily short but short-er. This will get rid of the damaged part and make it easier to de-colour.

You can go to the hair salon and get your hair colored to match your natural color. If there is red you want out this can be accomplished in the salon by choosing the right color of brown to cancel out the red.

if you use color remover on your hair it is going to strip all of the color from your hair I mean all of it so iti s going to end up white or gray colored you will have to put more color on or it is going to look terrible. it is really damaging to your hair too. I would go get it done at a salon they will have better soultions that are less damaging

you need to stop coloring your hair and let the old color grow out..then you natural color will come back...it may look different for a while until all the old color is gone..but it can be worth it...you can go to a professional and have them strip your hair to what is close to your color and it won't look as bad...will cost aprrox....50-75 dollars.

You can use "joy" dish detergent soon after coloring and it will wash it out and then you can call the number on the back of the box and they will tell you what color will counteract the color that you used.
