We have prom on May 5th so maybe a little before. I have a treadmil and can walk at 3.8mph for a mile. That gets my heart rate up. What else should i be doing? Any tips would be great.

Have you called Jenny yet? Just kidding.

Or swim daily and run on the treadmil. Spend 1 hour every day swimming laps across a olympic size pool and run on the treadmil for half and hour to one hour. The best way to pass time will walking on the treadmil is by watching television at the same time. Time will pass before you know it. Also, for faster results, try running on your treadmil rather that walking.Don't cheat your self and eat small snacks between meals. Have lots of water and juices no matter how many calories they have.

Lastly, try working out all areas of your body. This may be a chance to not only look good but take care of health. Practice with 15 push-ups 3 times a day. (Try right before a meal) Slowly build up the amount of push-ups to 50 a day. Also stretch your hamstrings by leaning over you legs (don't touch them) as far as you go, then breathe, and go a little lower. ( you may want to do this stretch right before you run.) Also, practice building up sit-ups. Don't do these more than twice a week other wise you can get back injuries. But you'll get great abs. Try jump roping also to your favorite songs. Lastly, go outside. Bike ride or run around a local park or hill. Even though you are already running on you treadmil, running on rugged terrain is even better for your heart. Try rock climbing too. I'm only 12, but I've heard that these tips are not only affective, but excellent for you health. Good luck and look gorgeous for prom!

If you're around 18... let's forget max and target heart rates for a second. Can you push it out to 5 minute miles? Then do 6 of them. Whatever your best pace for about a half hour is doing well. Try doing some time on the street, for added challenge and coordination. Add some basic push ups, sit ups, and leg lifts to tone up your torso and arms.

Don't hold back. I did the above and dropped over 30 lbs, while still gaining a ton of muscle, in about 3 months.

See yourself as a healthy, strong you and the rest falls into place.

Drop your caloric intake - especially excess carbs and fats - but maintain good nutrition. Exercise for 45 minutes a day, alternate types of exercising every other day. Treadmill one day, a brisk walk on the next, treadmill on the third, etc. Exercise in the morning, because your body will burn more calories throughout the day, and this will help get rid of the excess weight (assuming it's fat). Expect to lose 2-3 pounds a week; don't go for any more.

It all depends on your body. If your actually heavy right now and there is an easy 20 lbs to lose I say go for it. But however alot of females think they are fat when they arent. But anyway get off the treadmill and go outside. Run for distance. Do lunges, push ups, sit ups etc. You dont want to do just cardio to loose 20 lbs in 3 months your going to have to mix it up with cardio and weight or resistance training. get them muscles working to get your metabolism going!! eat a little more protein and cut down your intake to 2000 calories a day if you arent already there. Keep track of what you are eating. There is an awsome website for doing that its www.fitday.com. its all free try it out and goodluck. i hope you accomplish what youre trying to do!

Nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat. Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic load. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin and healthy. Salt has no calories but makes you fat and burning more calories does not help this fatness.

suggest working up to walking 4 miles when able. only 1 mile isn't going to do as much. drink lots of water, avoid concentrated sugars like candy, juice, soda, gatorade or anything like that. if you can't tolerate water drink crystal light. cut out fried foods and fill up on as much vegetables as you can without fat. also be careful how much bread, pasta, potatoes, rice, and any other high carb food you eat.
