One site I checked says the earth is roughly 23,000 around and to do that in 24 hours you'd have to go about 960mph. Unless you want to take the easy way and just float around in Alaska in a hot air ballon on a sunny day in the summertime. You'd always be in daylight. I'd prefer to stumble around on one of the poles and get it done in just a few seconds. Ya know get it over with.

Depends on how high up from the surface of the earth you want to be. The higher, the faster.
The rotation of the Earth is what causes Day & Night - basically, you want to "hover" on the Day side while the Earth spins under you. If you don't want to be over the Earth, just blast off aimed at the sun!

If it is the earth turning and the sun standing still, then getting off the earth with the sun on you should keep you right there, right?
