Gr8 going Blake! Stomach emptying time is 3 hrs. For liquids i would say 1- 2 hrs. All the Best!

If it's on an empty stomach, thirty minutes would be a good time to check. Diabetic post-prandial (after-eating) glucose tests are carried out at 2-hours, but by then in normal people the pancreas has released insulin to normalize the blood sugar. Any time between thirty minutes and 2 hours would be ok, as long as you use the same time for each beverage. If you can take the punishment, you might even consider taking multiple readings.

That sounds like a great project. What is your prediction (hypothesis)?
Don't look for an answer! Gather your data and *then* find out if your data agrees with the accepted data.
Well done!

(as a side note, it has been shown that diabetics absorb glucose differently then non-diabetic, as the rate of absorption is a function of serum glucose levels)

Well, it takes up to an hour or more.
A State Trooper once told me that he learned that it takes 3 hours for every ounce of alcohol (Beer, liquor, wine)consumed for the human body (average fitness level) to completely be free of it. So he would ask a driver how many drinks he/she had, instead of the obvious: have you been drinking? Because if you drink a beer or two and go home right away, it'll not be in your system as fully as if you wait. So the longer you drink, the higher blood-alcohol levels. Makes sense, right?
Go to Google and put ' alcohol absorption time?' and you'll get all you want. okay?

take a time course that way you can see how quickly each food causes the glucose spike. if you only look at one time point, the results might be a bit misleading. a time course would be awesome. you could show both maximum glucose spike per serving and how long it takes to get there. i think that caffeine has been shown to increase the rate of glucose uptake so with your beverages of choice, i think you'll need to look at time.

wow, that was really rambling and stream of conscious, but i think you have an interesting project! :)
