For any puppy excersize is important. It helps with training if your puppy walks/runs/plays off that excess energy.

For my puppy this is the schedule that we try and keep

8am wake up let out to potty
8:30-9:30 go walking or to the dog park to play ball. We make sure that at least 45 minutes is active playtime or walk time
9:30-10am Feed then let out to potty again
10-3pm free time he either takes a nap or plays outside I work from home so he usually follows me around the house all the time lol
3-4pm outside playtime with a ball or some of his toys
around
5pm -we go for another half hour walk around the neighborhood.
5:30pm- Feed again
6-7pm Puppy training so he learns commands
7pm - bedtime free play

then we wake up and do it all over again lol... I have a Jack Russell and a Rotty so they both love to play and go walking and exploring but Like i said I have a work from home schedule so I can spend alot of time with them I know that some people don't have so much time but if you walk him once in the am and once in the pm and try to get him socialized well by taking him to obedience training then he should be a well adjusted well behaved doggy... good luck!

I guess it really depends on the dog's previous schedule. If the dog is used to only a few walks a day and you want to do more, you should slowly increase the number. What are you currently feeding it? If it's liquid, I would suggest no more than 4-5 hours or so. If it's solid, it should be fine with 3 meals a day like a regular person. For naps, it depends on how hard and how long he spent playing. I would suggest getting playtime in during the morning and afternoon. And if he's sleeping, let him sleep during the evenings. If not, you can take him for a walk or two and leave him with a toy to play with.

schedualing can be a good thing...however...too tight or strict a schedual can cause depression or anxiety in a dog if you are unable to keep to the schedual. when you do this, you are programming the dog on the clock and should you have to miss or be late, the dog still expects it. Just like human programming, if you expect something to happen at a certain time every day and it does not, it upsets you. Best to plan certain events, IE: potty time and feed time, but the rest should flow naturally. just be patient and loving and good things will result from it.

Schedule? I didn't know we had to schedule stuff for our dogs? let him sleep when he's tired, play with him often and teach him manners and commands daily. I wouldn't worry about scheduling anything. Walk him daily, let him run and play in the sunshine, take him to dog parks or with you for long rides..don't plan stuff, let life happen - you'll have more fun that way.
