I have a philips 5.1 surround sound speaker set, which is still the best I've been able to find. I have a new DTS DVD/SACD player, but the problem is that the connectors are incompattible. The DVD player has 3x Phono pairs, but the speakers use a pre made din type connector. Does anyone know if a wiring diagram or pin-out diagram exists for the din connector to allow me to splice the two leads into one.

Here is an easy test to see what wire goes with what speaker.

Use a small 1.5 battery
Connect two wires at a time in the + and - of the battery.
If you hear a "bip", then those two wires correspond to the speaker that made the sound. (make sure you disconnect from the battery as soon as you hear the "bip")

Check the size of the DIN connectors on your speakers, but this might help http://www.flashbacksales.co.uk/acatalog/5_Pin_DIN___Phono_Cables.html
Does the Sub, or any of the speakers plug into a wall socket? If not then you may well need to buy an amp supporting 5.1 Dolby surround. Good luck.
