The reason your gum are infected because when you do not brush your teeth everyday it will cause plaque to build up and it will cause infection.

A dental gum infection causes inflamation. Inflamation is when the gums get swollen, red and bleed. The most common cause of gum inflamation is gingivitis. Gingivitis is when the infection is limited to the gums without spreading to the bone underneath. A special type of gum infection is called pericornitis. An upper wisdom tooth will sometimes chew the swollen gum tissue on top of a lower wisdom tooth. The tissues around the wisdom tooth get red and swollen and the patient often has difficulty opening the mouth.

A periodontal abscess is when a dental gum infection forms a ball of pus in the gums. There is usually underlying bone damage and aggressive periodontal treatment is needed. A dental abscess due to a dead tooth can cause pus formation that swells up the gum tissues. The cause of this is from a tooth problem, not a gum problem.

Trench mouth, or Acute Necrotizing Gingivitis, is when a dental gum infection causes the surface of the gums to fall off leaving the tender underlying gum tissue exposed.

Regardless of the dental gum infection cause, it's important to get help early. All infections should be treated early before possibly getting out of hand and requiring extensive treatment.

Yes, not brushing everyday can cause gingivitis. Your gums may swell and bleed, and it indicates you need to take better care of your teeth. Brush every day (at least once, preferably after every meal) with a SOFT bristle brush and a toothpaste of your choice. If you don't like toothpaste, use baking soda. Then get a gentle mouthwash like Biotene or Oasis and swish it around for about 30 seconds. You can do this as many times a day as you like as long as you don't swallow it. Swish between brushings as well.

This will also help improve your breath. Not brushing every day gives you horrible breath.

that's jus dirty. Yes it is the cause of you gum infection. And probably badbreath. Your gums will bleed and you will begin to lose bone around your teeth which means you will lose teeth all because you dont brush everyday. it is recommended that you brush twice a day and floss at least once a day.

Well it may not be an infection, but I would gargle with some salt water, and then brush teeth, and go see a dentist, he/she probably could tell you more.

It helps to keep your mouth clean, you might want to rinse your mouth with peroxide this will help kill any bacteria, it will turn your gums white in areas that have bacteria, and DO NOT SWALLOW, but hold it in your mouth for as long as you can.

Heck yes. Get to a dentist. Bacteria harbors in your mouth and colonizes there. A dental hygienist is the only one who can remove the tartar buildup you probably have.
