Well I'm only 13 years old (I'm a girl), and I haven't seemed to be growing for year or so, not even a little bit. I was 5'3'' a year and a half a go, to two years ago, and I'm still 5'3''. What's wrong!? I have never heard of a girl stop growing at 13! I'm really sad because all of my friends are out growing me now and I'm just staying the same. Will I still grow? My sister and brother are really tall, but not me. I also eat lots of vegies and fruit and exorcise regularly. And I haven't even had my period for a whole year (cause I heard you stop your major growing after two years).

Well if you havent had your period for a year theres a probably a hormonal imbalance in your body. My friend hasnt had hers for a year but she hasnt told her parents at all. It could also be occuring from too much stress on your body, like too much excercise your body isnt used to.

Women do stop growing sooner than men - but the average age where this occurs is 20. Exercize is the best thing you can do to encourage your growth - but genetics determines a lot of it.

Some of your friends will be taller than you - that's just life. Try not to worry about it too much.

It isn't that bad being a girl and being on the "petite" side of things. You don't have to worry about dancing with a guy who is shorter than you unless he's 9! You can wear heels and still look good next to an average height guy - one of my friends is 5'9" and had to wear flats (she was dating a guy who was 5'10") And heels make your legs look good.

There are many upsides to being shorter - so don't worry about it. Even if you stop at 5'3" you aren't that bad!

Hang in there and best of luck!!!

I was thinking this all was normal until I read that you haven't had your period in a whole year. Was your period regular before? Are you sure you are consuming enough calories? I am just amazed at the calorie restrictions some people put on themselves (less than 1000 calories a day). You are growing and you need quite a few calories (1500+).

Please don't get down on your self I am 21 years old and i am 6'3 my girlfriend is 20 and she is 5'3 maybe even a little bit shorter. 5'3 is actually average for a female belive it or not. There's nothing wrong with being 5'3 unless you want to be a professional basket player :) Cheer up!

Actually this is perfectly normal. Many girls stop growing at age thirteen and 5'3" is a good height.
