Head lice are small head bugs. Their back ends are slightly longer than their front. They usually are about the size of a pen tip. Does your head itch? Have you found small bugs in your hair? If yes, then you have head lice. You don't have to shave your head. Go to the drug store and get a product called Rit. It is usually down the shampoo isle. You have to get someone else involved in this project. You can't see the top of your head to get them all. The store also will have small fine tooth combs. The metal ones work best. Wash your hair and follow the directions. I found it was easiest to have a small jar candle burning next to me when dealing with head lice. The shampoo doesn't kill them, it just knocks them out. You have to kill them. As you pull them out just drop them in the candle near the wick or in the melted wax. The comb wont get them all so make sure whom ever is combing looks for them as they go. You also have to get all of the eggs. They look like small pieces of dandruff attached to your hair. If you don't get all the eggs you will get a re-infestation. Put all of your clothes and bedding through the wash and dry on the hottest heat you can without shrinking your clothes. Vacuum all of your floors and furniture. They are small unpleasant bugs and when they have found a comfy home they like to stay. Check everyone in your family. After about two weeks, re-check everyone for small baby bugs. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Lice are tiny little bugs that live in your hair. You can buy lice removal shampoo,it comes with a comb to get the really small nits(eggs)that the lice will lay. You do not have to shave your head, that is an old time method of getting rid of the lice. You will need to wash all your linens, any clothing that hasn't been washed since wearing. You should also spray your furniture, or wash cloth furniture by hand. If you have lice the area will be super itchy, you will be constantly scratching. Sometimes you can see the live lice. Good luck.

MY cousins had it. Lice are small insects such as fleas except they are white. It looks like dandruff sort of, but they are hard to keep up with because they move. You can get shampoos and special combs, but the doctor or some sort of specialist would be best. In the meant time, stay away from other people so they won't get it. Clean your sheets, don't let other people use your brushes or head phones. You shouldn't have to shave your head inless you want to. People usually get lice from humid areas. It is unhealthy, so you should try to get it fixed because they lay eggs and hatch fast.
