Buddhism sells itself as accepting and peaceful, and it is, to anything except Christianity.

I didn't know there was one. If there was, I'm sure the Buddhists wouldn't participate. I woulldn't either. Radical Islam is a problem because of poverty, ignorance, and resentment of a history of colonization from outsiders. Attacking radical Muslims would be like trying to put a fire out with gasoline. The more outside forces harm them, the more they will stand up to fight. A world program that helped people in third world countries to live in better conditions would be the only solutions.

there will be no war, we would not take a side anyway. Monotheistic religions evolve, look at what Christianity did during its violent period, mostly directly from the church. It makes radical Islam look like a drop in the bucket. It will pass, all we can do is try to make the world a safer place for those living in those areas and help in any way we can.

Really its very very sorry that how ignorant you are! If you know the realities then you never dare to write such words. Look! you don't know what Islam means? This is a very topic and these days most of the people attacking Islam, Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) and Muslims without thinking or caring for the consequences. Believe it or not but every one has to be questioned about one's activities in this world. God forbid, how the people ignorantly preparing fires for them.

the buddhists will most probably:
1)relief the victims (of the war) through medical & humanitarian aids (like the 'moderate' christians & muslims groups)
2) In dealing with others, learn how to compromise and give others a little more love. This is the way to live happily (loving- kindness & compassion).

nobody wins, in a war.

Wait a minute. What is this "coming holy war against radical islam"? What makes this war holy? I see it as more of a global struggle against violent religious fundamentalism.

I hope we will be able to see the facts from both sides. But Buddhists are not doormats, if I have no choice but to defend myself and my own then I will. I suspect most Buddhists will side with the west as Islam would not regard them as being part of their faith.

War is not enough, which will only make more radicals.

critical thinking and questioning islam will only show solution to islam. I am into it from the beginning. I think every one is.

If your belief is strong, islam is already defeated. You need not declare war on them. I have already defeated it ( not a christian)

They seek only peace amongst the brotherhood of man but the Buddha did sanction fighting against tyranny in order to help the oppressed, so it remains to be seen whether they will fight against us western terrorists or our Islamic counterparts.
