Is not the man , who does not know if God exists or not, who admits he does not know
infinitely wiser than the man, who does not know if God exists or not, who claims God does not exist?

agnostic and atheism is what you just described. It may appear that an agnostic is wiser since he is open, but in truth he is open to all interpretations. Leaving himself easy to be mislead. So neither to me seems the wisest. For God neither is difficult to reach.

The wiser man would have written that in a way that made sense, using proper punctuation and grammar.

Miss Kayla, Statements like that are why I consider myself an agnostic (most of the time) rather then being an atheist. How is not knowing (or in my case even caring) cowardly? I just don't think it's my place to say whether what other people believe is right or wrong in a sense of truth. I only know that I have not experienced everything. Do I think there is a God? No. Am I infinitely wise and all knowing? No. How is that cowardly? I think your statement is rude more then mine is cowardly.

I do not know if an elephant broke into your house last night.

I do not know if a tree fell on your car this morning or not.

I do not know if your cat killed a dog or not yesterday.

I don't know if you climbed Mt Everest last week or not.

But I will claim that none of the above events happened to you. Does this make me infinitely less wise than someone who would say they didn't know?

I think not. I think it is wiser to make a claim that one believes to be true. You can always revise your claim when you encounter new evidence.

I have a confirmed belief in there not being one. I don't need a god. I would say I dont know exactly what the origin of the universe is but I think it is very unlikely that a god did it. I don't want to be a flip-floppy agnostic.

I don't know about being "infinitely wiser" but the point is an Agnostic is more logical than an Atheist because they admit not knowing. Hmmm, could be right.

That little *argument* makes no difference to me. Same could be said of agnostics vs theists. I know that I believe there is no god therefore I believe I am right.

You really should think harder before you post such silly comparisons. And you gave yourself a star?! Very lame.

And of course GARY would give you a star.

Agnosticism The Logical Choice

Neither is wiser than the other. Belief is personal. There is no right or wrong belief. There is right and wrong when judging others, however.

What is more stupid, a person who worships a God they can't see or a person who is offended by a God they don't believe exists?"

in a sense. But being agnostic is also considered a cowardly act. I do truly believe there is no god, and i know for a fact that one does not live is myself. Therefore me being atheist is an intelligent choice on my part.
