Is the airport anywhere close to any of the famous landmarks of Washington D.C.

Depends on the airport. If it is Dulles, not so much. If it is Reagan National you are in for a treat. It is right across the Potomac river from the capitol.

no, restricted air space u mite from a distance but no good shots of them

you may be able to, if you are sitting next to the window but dont expect the plane to get to really close to anything.
