It's better to eat a balanced diet and watch your calories. Eating too little fat can make you feel grouchy. To help keep your moods on an even keel, choose healthy fats such as olive oil, almonds and avocados.

Calories is a measurment of how much energy something contains when it is metabolised by the human body. Another measurement of energy usually associated with calories is joules.

Carbs also known as carbohydrates are a source of calories, as are proteins and fats.

As has been said it always best to consult your doctor or nutritionist before you decide to make any change to your diet. Also a balanced diet is best as missing one thing and having too much of another can have a detrimental effect on you.

Hope this answers the question.

Carbs CONTAIN calories. Protein CONTAIN calories. Fats CONTAIN calories. ALL foods contain calories.

A calorie is the unit of measurement of energy produced by food when it is oxidized, or used, in the body. Calories are like fuel for our bodies. We need them for our bodies to run. But if we pump more fuel into our bodies than we need for the amount of activity we do, the excess fuel just sits there. Your body will store this excess, unused fuel. It may store it as muscle, if you perform enough physical, muscle-building exercises such as weightlifting, or it may store it as fat.

Carbs contain 4 calories per gram. Protein contains 4 calories per gram. Fats contain 9 calories per gram. Your best optopn is a LOW FAT diet which is NO saturated fats and moderate polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats. You need the carbs for energy.
