I wouldn't really worry overly about this - I mean, he's your boyfriend, so presumably you already know him fairly well! You know the person he is, including the Aspergers, and really it's just a label to describe some things about him that you probably already know - like maybe he's very enthusiastic about certain subjects and knows everything there is to know about them, maybe he's very particular about certain things, maybe he's not that great on the emotional front and finds it hard to express himself or recognise how other people are feeling... but really, all these things are maybes, generalisations.

There is a theory that autism and related disorders are a spectrum, and everyone falls somewhere on it - that everyone has some symptoms which could be classified in this way. So really this isn't all that unusual, and many, many people diagnosed with Aspergers are able to manage perfectly well in life.

You know your boyfriend already, so I think unless he's raised any particular concerns you should just carry on as you have been - I don't think he'd want to be treated like someone 'different' all of a sudden.

But I think this is a really interesting question, and the fact that you asked it says to me that you'll do fine in dealing with this news - because your first thought is of your boyfriend and how to ensure that you don't over-pressurise him or make him uncomfortable. That shows you're a caring and thoughtful person, and so I'm sure you'll manage fine.

Best wishes!
