The carriage of Mobility Scooters is at the discretion of the Train Company, so you would need to contact them in advance to ask.
Customer Service phone numbers for all train companies can be found on the National Rail website.

The Official answer is No . Basically if a wheelchair is bigger than a standard push wheel chair or it is not capable of being folded up then it does not travel. In practise it tends to be a little different. If the train is off peak and not too full then the guards tend to let them travel but it is very much at their discretion if they feel OK then they may let it travel. To be certain though you would be better getting a push wheel chair and getting some assistance from a train travel point of view

You will have to ask in advance and book a place with the train guard, however at peak times this might not be possible.

Generally I would say yes, But as others have suggested it would be wise to contact the railroads involved before hand. In Canada all our passenger and commuter trains are assessable as well as commuter buses and scheduled city buses, plus many taxi cabs

Depends on size, but it's often possible. You need to check with the train operator, on some services it just isn't possible. Probably requires booking.

Yes it is possible. Advise the railroad/railway in advance. However, if the aisles are too narrow you wouldn't be able to use it, and it would travel as baggage.
