Go to the doctor yourself - he will either prescribe anti depressants, or refer you to a psychiatrist. Once you have been diagnosed, then it will be time to tell your family. Get help as soon as you can. You are not alone in this, there are plenty of people who will help you, including your family I am sure.

I think you need to maybe sit down with the calmest member of the family and explain the way you are feeling, if you feel like you cant do this then go and visit your doctor. Remember lots of people are dealing with depression, you're not alone and lots of people get the right help and help you to get things back on track.
Remember, tomorrow could be a beautiful day.
Lots of luck and I hope you will feel better very soon.

You will have an assessment in A&E by a psychiatrist, to be admitted voluntarily to the mental health ward.
You will probably wish to tell your family, as it can be a very lonely place, and you will need their support all the way through to when you get out, But you could take your mobile and phone them later on, if that were easier.
You could go today, or plan it as soon as you wish - take time to pack a few clothes, they'll have soaps, towels etc and a washing machine. - take your favourite music though.
Best wishes mate, it's better to be voluntary than otherwise. God bless you.

first of all, go and see your doctor, he/she is best placed to arrange for more detailed help for you - or if theres a wait for appointments, i see nothing wrong with going to the hospitals emergency department and explaining. The Samaritans are also good people to talk to.
I would go alone, first of all, then wait until there is medial help/advice, and then explain to your loved ones about how you feel. You will only be sectioned - taken away- if the doctors feel that you are an immediate threat to yourself or others.

my advice is go to the doctor and exlpain everything to them, they wil then be able to help you all out with problems and work through them.
options you have are very limited the best one is to work out what the problem is this is every hard but once you have that it is easier to work through.
Life is hard and difficult i suffer from depression it is not nice but i have started to discover that life is also full of great things and worth living for.
Good Luck. Hope everything works out for the best. Giraffe : )

Most hospitals have a psych ward. Just go! If I were you, I wouldn't tell my family because they may try to talk you out of it, and you seem to have a pretty good handle on the fact that you need help.

There are many different possibilities.I would ask to be prescribed some medication at first. If you really need help from your family you can ask the staff to tell them. They're accustomed to dealing with such troubles so they know what to say and do.
Good luck.

Most communities have a mental health organization that you can go in and they will set you up with the appropriate agency. In ohio its called ADAMH. Look in your phone book at the beginning and see what your community has to offer.
