HUMANS RELEASING HARMFUL GASES

2007-02-15 00:29:32 · answer #1 · answered by sapphire 3 · 0 0

Actually the term green house effect was used in cold countries to help the plants grow even during adverse climatic conditions. It was done by building a kind of house made from glass as glass has the property to absorb heat.
This name is also lent to an atmospheric condition related to earth where some gases(carbon dioxide),water ,etc.have the property to trap this heat without allowing it to escape from the earth. Therefore it results in excessive rise in temperature in earth.
This is termed as global warming where warming is the end-result of countries all round the globe.
Due to this the poles start melting and people may suffer from many kinds of skin cancer.

Some gases ("greenhouse gases") let sunlight in, which warms the Earth, and then block that heat from leaving. It's just like the glass in a greenhouse. That's the "greenhouse effect", and it's a natural thing.

Man is making excessive amounts of greenhouse gases, mostly by burning fossil fuels. That causes the delicate natural balance to go out of whack and the Earth warms. That's global warming.

It won't be a Hollywood style disaster. Gradually coastal areas will flood and agriculture will be damaged. But it will be very bad. Rich countries will cope, but it will take huge amounts of money. In poor countries many people will die of starvation, but not all of them.

Most scientists say, in 20-50 years. But we need to start right now to fix it, fixing it will take even longer than that.

Gases created through human industrial and agricultural practices (primarily carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels and wood, as well as methane, nitrous oxide, and chlorofluorocarbons) increase the heat-reflecting potential of the atmosphere, thereby raising the planet's average temperature.this increases gases like methane and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and increases temperature of the earth and global warming is produced.

Global warming is nothing but over usage of the resources of the earth, there are always laws to govern them but it is normally thrown into the winds , either for their selfish needs/ due to difficulty in implementing it/,just in the way of their fast gaining money
