Pocklington's beautiful for walks and it has a lovely scenic drive if you're feeling lazy. You have to go to Burnby Hall Gardens in the summer and feed the koi carp, there are literally hundreds of them and a nice little gift ship that sells garden plants, paperweights etc. they usually have ducklings and chicks there too in the spring, and baby fish!
The shops are very quaint and nice for a look round, unless you're looking for high street shops etc, of which there aren't many
I drive out to pocklington at least once a month in the summer, it really is lovely for a day out
