My dog has NEVER pee'd in the house. She just had puppies early this morning and about an hour ago she went through the house and pee'd on 2 rugs...luckily we have hard wood floors or I would REALLY be upset. Does she do this to protect her puppies? What's going on??

It's most likely residual contractions that occur after giving birth - she may be trying to expel some of the placenta. If she continues to act like this, I'd take her to the vet and have her checked out. If she did retain any part of the placenta it could be fatal. If she stops, there is no foul odor, she's eating and drinking fine, then she'll probably be ok.

Her insides are still suffering the effects of having given birth. That's going to include involuntary muscle actions. She shouldn't be going through the house this soon after having her pups. For the next little while confine her areas to where the puppies are and outside for voiding.

She is marking her territorty because she had puppies she will stop sooner or later but to make sure she is really lazy now since she had a hard time delieving the puppies so this may go on for about a week or 2 but it will stop just do what u did b4 to train her again so she doesnt forget what the rule is!
