I honestly think it's a load of bull. I can't believe 99% of the world believes in it. I'm really looking for the people here who DON'T believe in it, but I'll also take answers from people who do believe ONLY if you're explaining why so many people believe in it.

HAHAHA! You've found someone who doesn't believe all the crap and superstition...there are a lot of us out here doing our part to help people to see rationally and to trust what they see.

If one person believes invisable people talk to them and tell them to kill people, or which couch to buy, its called insanity. If many people believe it, its called religion.

Believe me that 99% of the people don't believe it...only 85% of Americans believe in the supernatural and we're the nation with the most delusion in the entire world. Most people don't believe in any supernatural beings mysteriously making clandestine appearances in their french toast. Don't be so discouraged, the world is pretty insane but there are a great many people around who don't fall for the bullshit.

You're not alone in the struggle for rational thought! For support go to:

I think the majority of the population believe in God because they are actually afraid of dying and where they will go after death. I think people are so caught up in having to believe in God and where they will go or end up when they die that they don't live the life that they have right now.All I know is I am living my life right now and trying to be the best person to all living things as I can be...and where I go after i die .....well thats in the future and I personally cannot see the future therefore I don't know.I am a very opened minded person so I believe all possibilities because I know for a fact that I do not have all answers to all questions with factual back-ups and therefore I have to allow for endless possibilities

I can't say I believe either. I mean there are so many flaws in religion. There has to be something out there, I mean we didn't evolve from proteins...how the heck did the proteins get there?!

There's so much crud we don't know. I don't want to know. Just people don't understand that it's right here in our guilty hands...the outline of our lives is made by us. ^_^

I think a lot of people believe because it gives them hope to live. Like sex and love and friendship and laughter isn't enough. Nope, they have to take 50 hours out of their week for a magic man in the sky who controls what we do...I dunno...it kinda sucks but whatever floats their boat.

Love,
marisa

Many mental health professionals believe that, with the possible exception of their own personal faith, all religions were originally created by humans in order to alleviate their chronic anxiety. Their angst was created by their feelings of helplessness in a dangerous universe, their lack of control of the environment, and the knowledge of their own impending deaths.

God is real. When I lost hope, I prayed and I felt comfort. God exists. I personally believe I felt the touch of God. U may not feel it but when you pray, you are saved from every trouble in the world. God is not religion, God is soul, God is truth.

So many people believe in God because of their personal experiences with God. If you refuse to believe in God then that is your choice but does not make God less real. I believe in him because he is my Faithful Shepard and I know God is real because he hears me. If you don't believe then why do you keep on asking about him? You need to tell me this.Deep down inside you know God is real.

In my own words, and speaking from my heart on a personal tip.
I am one of those believers in the Almighty God, the Father who is a Spirit, and not an "it". I can honestly say, "that to know Him, is to love Him, and to love Him is to accept his gift of eternal life through his Son, Jesus Christ the "Anointed One" that he sent to save mankind from their sins.

He knew that there would be people like yourself that would not accept or believe in Him for who is He is; and for what He did because of his unconditional love towards mankind. But, he loved you and so many others anyway in spite of your blindness to the fact of His true existence.

God is faithful, merciful and kind even when dealing with the ignorance of some of his people who have not yet allowed the eyes of their understanding to be opened.

He is patient, and has longsuffering towards many of us because of our ignorance and unbelief. He knows that some things we in our finite minds cannot perceive if we can't see it, feel it, or even touch it naturally. But when our dull senses have been sharpened with the truth of his Word, and our stony hearts have been chiseled to be made a heart of flesh. Then and only then can we become pliable and more receptive to the reality that He is who He says He is, and that he rewards those who diligently seek Him by faith because He is spiritually discerned.

So, you see that's the true reason that I believe in God! I pray that one day you to will come to know Him and believe in Him as well of your own freewill just as I did! May the Father bless you, always!

Peace,

Hope

I believe because I cannot accept that we Created ourselves, or that we are just a one in a million to the power of 100 chance to start our existence.

Peace.

You might do a quick read of the New testament, it would only take you a couple of hours a night for a week or two.

It might help you in your understanding.

Good Luck in your search!

It's easy for the human brain to make up a deity to justify our limited existence. But in reality, we are just like every other animal on this planet in that our only purpose here is to live long enough to procreate and perpetuate the species.

That said ... anyone wanna procreate?? ;-)

Have you ever met anyone with an average iq? To me they seem like morons.

That explains a great many popular phenomena including the dumbing down of television and the current president.
