That is what Adam means. What does this reference to red clay mean? Is it the body? What is Eve then? Is Eve the soul in this metaphor?

The original Hebrew Bible was stored in a well secured library, and it contains thousand of documents of the Bible in the city Alexandria. The only people who were permitted to touch and read them were the Rabi, or the officials who were taking care of them.
They use to preach the Bible in two ways. The first is through art, and painting, and the other was through speaches and one to one preaching. Word of mouth. Later on, it was not that easy, and more people outside of their region wanted to know more about the Bible. At a certain time, there was a huge fire which destroyed many of those documents. Later on those officials decided to translate those document that they have memorized and read so many times to their people, so as it will be known to all people not just those who know Hebrew. Some believe it was red clay, and hence the blood and the flesh, red and the clay. Some thought it was dust, hence from dust to dust shall we return. and others though it was mud, as in molding the shape of the person to form a person. The bottom line of all those thoughts, God put flesh on those bones and created a human. Eve is part of Adam, and hence he is to protect her as part of him.

Which one is it! and the dilemma is still alive!

I would imagine, if that is true, that it means it was red clay that God scooped up to make Adam, so He named him Red-clay-guy.

As to Eve, it means that she wasn't made of red clay, she was sorta cloned from the DNA in Adam's rib. Seriously, you're suprised that God can clone? Really?
