This question depends on the type of TV. If it is Plasma's, then Panasonic has the edge over Samsung. Sony has the edge over both Panasonic and Samsung in LCD's because of their XBR series, but Samsung isn't too far behind. I also feel that Samsung is better when it comes to Projection TV's and that it is much better for quality/price compared to Sony's SXRD series. Samsung is also ahead of the game as they have started a move to a LED bulb which has an average lifetime of 20,000 hours compared to a normal bulb which is 4-6,000 hours.

Sony has been the driving force of all these other electronic makers to follow suit with. Sony's Research and Development labs are perhaps among largest and best in the world. Granted some products may have better this and that but Sony has and always will be the top dog running the streets and the lesser competition will be peeing themselves on the porch in the near future.

PS, Expect this in the not so distant future Toyota and Sony join forces especially with robot technology. And I can see definite incorporation of Sony powered Toyota's that drive themselves.

i'm procuring the pointy Aquos LC-32GP1U. It has the most remarkable specs of any 32'' television I surely have ever considered. 6ms reaction time, 10,000:a million Dynamic evaluation ratio (2000:a million interior of reach), 3 HDMI, 2 ingredient, a million DVI, a million S-Video, 3 composite, digital and analog audio inputs and outputs. the television is totally loaded with ports. It has a particular pastime mode to kill any lag between the demonstrate and the console. And its the purely 1080p 32" television in the present day. the photo is freaking remarkable. I surely have examine each evaluate less than the solar, the purely disenchanted quite everyone seems ones who get defective television's from on-line shops. ^_^

It depends on what you are buying. For plasma HDTV, Panasonic is the clear winner. For audio, I would go with Sony. but better than all of these for audio is OutlawAudio.com.

Panasonic makes the best cordless phones.

Sony makes the best "glass tube" TVs.

Samsung makes (for the money) the best "DLP projection" TVs

None of these brands make decent AUDIO equipment.

Panasonic makes (for the money) the best DVD players.

Sony still makes the best (out of these 3 brands) VCR.

But sadly they're all pretty AVERAGE brands these days...I own several of these products and have been fairly satisfied.
