I believe America has become greedy. The world is tearing down natural beauties such as rainforests and everywhere I look another breed of animal is dying off. What can we do to help?

Elect people who feel the way you do, and empower them to do what is necessary. We may be able to do it!

I don't think much of America as a unit any more. The media has glorified alternative lifestyles, created argument and dissension where tolerance should exist and sexualized our teens to a point that they don't know who they are or how to find out. Greed and self-serving, selfish, self-centered behavior are the words of the day.

As for our environment, I personally recycle all that I can and subscribe to freecycle.org to give away what I don't use any more or to get something I need. I was inspired by a group in San Francisco that staged a shopping sabbatical last year. The only thing they let themselves buy were personal health items such as shampoo and girlie stuff. At the end of the year, to a person, they were thrilled with the money they had saved and the outlook they had on what they NEEDED versus what they WANTED.
My soon to be daughter in law has always recycled, but she is now using freecycle and has vowed not to buy anything new for their apartment, no new clothes, etc.

I think that if each individual American would start doing something to benefit our country, as a group we could help our country become what it was before . . more positive and hopeful. A place where people pour into for a better life. Right now . . . I don't know, it's pretty discouraging.

Be blessed.

I think the world is a great place to live. Theres not much any individual can do to help the overall picture, just be nice to others and enjoy the day. The world took care of itself before we came along and I am confident it will continue to do so. I agree America is greedy to some degree but all the other countries are also, its just that America has more available options to do something about it.

The world is reaping the harvest of decades of apathy and the search for pleasures !! True stewardship of the planet has been relegated to the very industries and individuals who only care to dismantle the resources for the bottom line accounting !!
The complexities of the problems that exist are so enormous at this point that it may already be too late to save the greater percentage of what we have left before the demise of major portions of what we have grown to know and love about this planet are gone-- never to be again !!
And, yet, people sit back and think that the people who are in charge are at the helm of "taking care of" all that----they continue to believe that they can "be concerned" and that will be enough--they plant a single tree and are told that they are "doing something positive" about the envoirnment---they bitchspeak about cigarette smokers and then turn around and crawl into their SUVs to commute for hours everyday !! And , the list goes on and on and on and on !!
We are truly watching the rape of our planet with no due recourse but to expect that we are on the threshold of handing a barren, unforgiving, depleted, and much less desirable world to our children's children ---who---by the time they arrive -- will be microchipped like animals and regulated like crops because we have apathically allowed the governments of the world to come to the place where THEY are now the DECIDERS and we, the people, THEIR CHARGES !!!

YOU DID ASK !!!

The world is my favorite place to live, in fact I don't think I would like to live anywhere else except the world.

Seriously though, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else except the US. I've visited a lot of other countries, and lived in two others and while they were beautiful they did not have the same sense of freedoms, opportunities and diversity that the US has.

If you want to create change, become involved in interest groups that support your beliefs. Donate money and time to causes you believe in. Run for office yourself.

Quite messy in a "Mad, mad world"
With living human kind at loss and stranded in planet of apes.
At loss and blurr with lost sense of direction and purpose of life in planet of apes.
Time for each and every living human kind to find their way home to our creator in planet of apes.
If we still want to continue living this way soon all the great American dreams will all turn into smokes and ashes in planet of apes.
