A water diet approach is the perfect way to slow down your speed as it will assuredly result in muscle loss. A low carb diet can have a similar result. If you want faster times, build more muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat. You do not need weight loss, but you may need to lower your body fat percentage.
You are already pretty skinny. That is probably due to all that running. Running is a cardiovascular exercise. You need to bulk up not thin down. Your weight training after running may be counter productive. Drink a high carb protein shake before and after the weight room! Focus on building your legs for a stronger "kick". Build your upper body for a bigger "pump". You will probably gain some weight but it will be all muscle. You will be lean and strong. Do pliometrics for the best speed results.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Well, lo carb works for me, and following strict Atkins for two weeks will drop at least 6 or 7 lbs. But, that's eating less than 20 g carbs per day, and if you're an athlete that may not be enough for your body to have proper fuel.
Another thing that works for me,...tweak your metabolism. The metabolic rate goes up with exercise, and after big meals. So, eat alot one day, then exercise, then the next day drop calories in half, then do that for a couple of days, then go back up to high-calorie meals for one day, etc etc etc...keeping things varied like that will keep the body from going into "starvation mode' during a diet. It "fools" the body's metabolism into burning fat.

if you loose 5 or 6 punds you will actually be underweight....
you may not be able to loose 5 or 6 pounds bc those extra pounds you think you see may be muscle!Loosing muscle is not good for any body type. you may just need more practice to cut down on your time.Just practice more and pls dont loose anymore weight the last thing you want to do is loose healthy muscle mass.
