Many strip clubs actively recruit young women ages 18+ in our area. Some of the young women dancing in the clubs are High School seniors. I have no problem with this as they are adults and free to do as they choose. The clubs are doing nothing illegal and the schools can not discriminate against these young womens choice of occupation.
My point is with such an easy option for young women to obtain money gain independence from their parents homes and move out this is a very attractive option. A coworker of mine's daughter and a couple of her friends chose this path recently so they could get a place together away from their parents in the last 1/2 of their senior year.
I see alot of answers to parents perceived problems with their adult sons/daughters is if they do not want to follow the rules move out. I would like to know how many parents are prepared to make this statement and have their son/daughter pack up and move at that moment never to return?

Besides the usual newspaper adds these clubs are frequentd by men still in High School and that is an excellent means for the clubs to get the word out they are looking for dancers. Since 18yr old men are treated as second class adults as far as drinking goes many many of them go to strip clubs in groups to hang out as a right of passage.

These are grown women my point is not if people think what they choose to do is right or wrong, all adults are free to make their own choices. I mostly wanted parents to realize how easy it could be to loose a son/daughter at 18 if they follow some of the poor advice in the forum, and to see how prepared they are to have it happen even before they graduate high school. Alot of people talk the bug talk but when it comes down to it and they go to their room pack up and leave out the door are most parents really ready. In other words they leave before an expected chapter of graduation is complete.

Andrea D: I'm not talking High School Girls but High School women. High Schools do have adult students attending.

Simple supply and demand. If there isn't a law against it, the "demand" for 18-year olds dancing in a provocative manner will forever be filled by the "supply" of high school students.

I think that's disgusting. Adults have the right to do as they choose. However, high school kids are still KIDS, even if they are 18. They are living at home and don't have the maturity tp be in this sort of environment. It's damaging and sends the wrong message. I don't want my daughter viewing herself as nothing but a body - she has a sharp mind, a giving heart, and a beautiful soul. I also don't want her learning the lesson that sex is something that women do for men, and that they do it to get what they want. I want her to learn that sex is a wonderful act of intimacy and connection between caring adults, and that both deserve pleasure and happiness.

I think that's a truly beautiful idea. I am 16 now but plan to do this when I turn 18. It sounds like a great way to earn money when I am in school and I know I have the looks and body for it.

I think that it is wrong until they graduate High School. They should not be allowed to move out and work in that field until they graduate. I understand you are saying they are women, but I feel they are kids. I really hope that my daughter does not choose to do that, but if she does, she will not be able to spend the money on anything but saving for college. I would not kick her out.

i am prepared. it will still be many years before i have to deal with the teen years, but i am prepared. i hope that i can raise my children with values and a sense of self-worth. however, if stripping or something of that nature is the path that they choose, they are an adult and there is nothing that i can do to stop them.

i think its a good thing to build your kids confidence, not set my way or no way kind of rules. i find it terribly disturbing the idea of some truck drivers sitting looking at high school girls dance naked.

Thank God my husband and I will be going home soon to the Middle East where we won't have to worry about our daughter being exposed to things like this. And we've already decided our daughter will not be ever visiting the U.S.A.
