I am considering upgrading my operating system to Windows Vista. I am concerned with potential problems with some key programs and hardware. Specifically Adobe Photoshop CS2, Photoshop Elements 3.0, Pixel Ninja, Nortons SystemWorks 2006, and Call of Duty 2. As far as hardware is concerned my only real worries are with the Cannon i9900 wide carriage printer, and Spyder2 Pro colorimeter. I also have an HP 3320 printer that I use for basic utility printing. It is an inexpensive printer, so if it needs to be replaced it isn't a big deal. As far as internal hardware in the computer itself; I have no real concerns as it is quite new and up to date. If you can help with any of my concerns, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot
Terry

Only one I don't know about is the HP printer, you'll have to check the HP website for updated drivers, but otherwise you have nothing to worry about, Cannon always have the best up-to-date drivers for all models (I have an i850 and MP600 (All-in-one) that work flawlessly (Even better actually, there's new printing screens in vista making quality/format selection easier, just take some getting used to). As for the programs, I have them all and I've been using them since Vista beta, no problems. I use Photoshop Studio, Flash and 3DS Max every day, no compatability or performance issues. All you need is a Direct X 9 or 10 compatible graphics card. The antivirus uses a bit more ram in my experience, but works the same.

Vista. some human beings say Vista makes use of up a lot gadget ram. that is authentic. Vista makes use of those ram to % up the pc. Thats why there is not a lot loose ram. Xp wastes those loose ram doing not something. Vista is even extra like minded than XP than u imagine it really is. Vista hasn't any situation to me for a million three hundred and sixty 5 days already. Vista is swifter even as establishing software and beginning the pc. some human beings evaluate XP because they are too used to XP or they are gamer. it type of feels vista is slower in video games by technique of two-5 fps. No large deal. VISTa!

Most programs work with Windows Vista and most hardware are compatible. However you should stay with Windows XP as long as you can. There is no reason for you to move over to Windows Vista unless you want all the extra security features and are an entertainment/gamer nutt. Stick it out with XP, but if you really want to test out Vista, find a friend who has a copy, install it on a fresh hard drive and test out your hardware. If you don't like it, you can erase it off the hard drive. You can test it all for 30 days, but after that it requires a valid key to run. Otherwise there's no need to move over to Vista right now unless you're a hardcore gamer for DirectX10 or you're buying a brand new PC.

HP 3320 im not sure... but for best results you should try "Windows vista upgrade advisor" download it and it would help.. :)

Can't help with all of them but the whole CS2 suite is working fine for me on vista.

If you downloaded the cs dvd there's actually an additional patch I had to install for the activation that I didn't need with xp...it was only like 500KB size file and it's shared all across the p2p networks so no real biggie but if you have a downloaded iso you'll need it
